Elected and Appointed

Blank Rome announced that partner Mark. M. Lee, a trial lawyer and former federal prosecutor, was appointed to serve on the executive committee of the Federal Criminal Law Committee for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

In this role, Lee will work with the other executive committee members to provide strategic direction and planning for the organization.

Established in 1988, the Federal Criminal Law Committee for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania is dedicated to addressing issues concerning criminal defense in the federal courts.

The committee's mission is to facilitate the fair, speedy and effective administration of criminal justice.

The committee hosts continuing legal education seminars and events featuring prominent members of the defense bar, federal prosecutors, U.S. probation officers, Bureau of Prisons officials and federal judges speaking to legal issues relating to the administration of criminal justice in the federal courts.

The committee also issues reports and takes public positions on policy issues regarding criminal law.

A member of Blank Rome's white-collar defense and investigations group, Lee defends corporations and executives against investigations and prosecutions conducted by the federal government.

Lee also helps his clients manage and avoid risk by conducting internal investigations and corporate compliance assessments on their behalf.

Outside of the firm, Lee sits on the board of directors of the National Black Child Development Institute and is also a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American

Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Philadelphia Bar Association, Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Temple American Inn of Court.

Saxton & Stump announced that Lawrence F. Stengel, current shareholder and former chief judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, was appointed to the board of directors of Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts.

PMC is a statewide nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to ensuring that all Pennsylvanians can go to court with confidence that they will be heard by qualified, fair and impartial judges.

This organization was created out of a desire to improve judicial ethics and increase confidence in the judiciary after a 1988 report from the Pennsylvania Judicial Reform Commission revealed that confidence in the judiciary was very low.

PMC also advocates for judicial modernization and reform. They inform the public about judicial elections, the electoral process and the judicial discipline process.

Senior associate Richard T. Bobbe III of Greenblatt, Pierce, Funt and Flores was named president elect of the Penn State Dickinson School of Law Alumni Society.

The Penn State Dickinson School of Law was founded in 1834 and currently has over 8700 active alumni throughout the world.

Bobbe will serve as president elect in 2019 and move on to the role of president in 2020.

Bobbe, who handles criminal and civil matters for the firm, began his legal career in the Philadelphia District Attorney's office under Lynne Abraham.

He tried a variety of criminal cases ranging from drug possession to homicide and successfully represented people in the state and federal courts of both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

He currently serves on the executive board of the Philadelphia chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and is also a member of the board of directors of the Philadelphia District Attorney Alumni Association.
