Additions

Tucker Arensberg announced that Mark A. Eck joined the firm as a shareholder in the Pittsburgh office.

He focuses his practice on commercial litigation and products liability.

Additionally, Eck is a member of the American Arbitration Association and serves as a mediator/arbitrator in alternative dispute resolution matters.

He received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Eck is a member of the Council on Litigation Management and the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County.

He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Saxton & Stump expanded its health care law services with the addition of attorney John M. Hogan, who will also serve as chair of the firm's corporate health care and life sciences group.

Hogan has experience assisting physicians, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, laboratories, medical equipment providers, surgery centers, urgent care centers and other health care providers with mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, strategic alliances and joint ventures.

He also provides similar services to health care-related businesses such as providers of veterinary services.

Hogan represents clients through all stages of transactions, from structuring to negotiation and closing.

Speakers

The Chartwell Law Offices attorneys Matthew B. Esslinger and Jonathan P. Spadea presented to the Capital Area Insurance Professionals Legal Update seminar in Harrisburg.

Their presentation, “The Current State of Impairment Rating Evaluations in Pennsylvania,” focused on the legal landscape that insurers now face following the passage of Act 111.

The presentation provided information insurers can apply to their own cases.

Esslinger and Spadea are located in Chartwell Law's Harrisburg office.

Esslinger primarily devotes his practice to the defense of workers' compensation matters on behalf of insurance carriers, employers, self-insured entities and third-party administrators.

Spadea focuses his practice on the representation of clients in workers' compensation, medical fee review and employment law matters.

Elected and Appointed

Lavery Law announced that Andrew Maffett and Joshua M. Autry became partners of the firm. Maffett and Autry joined the firm as associates since 2014.

Maffett focuses his practice on the representation of employers and insurers in workers' compensation disputes. He received his Juris Doctor from West Virginia University College of Law.

Autry defends local governments and their employees in litigation. He graduated from Washington and Lee University School of Law.
