Kevin R. Marciano of Marciano & MacAvoy spoke at a Continuing Legal Education seminar for the Delaware County Guy G. deFuria American Inn of Court, of which he is a member.

The topic of the presentation was “Alcohol in Civil Cases.”

Marciano is a partner of Marciano & MacAvoy and often lectures on liquor liability.

Grace M. Deon is set to serve as a panelist at the third annual Business Law Institute of the Bucks County Bar Association where she will discuss employment law issues in the #metoo era.

The seminar is scheduled to take place at the Bucks County Bar Association in Doylestown on May 14.

Included in the discussion will be the applicable federal and state laws governing sexual harassment in the workplace, recommended employer policies and training, best practices for internal investigations of sexual harassment complaints, claims against high profile/executive level employees, how to address office romances and ethical and public relations implications specific to sexual harassment.

Deon is a shareholder and member of Eastburn and Gray's management committee. Her practice focuses on employment, commercial and special education litigation.

She previously served as the president of the Bucks County Bar Association.

Lamb McErlane attorney Karen Conn Mavros was a presenter at the National Business Institute's CLE titled “Estate Administration Boot Camp.”

The program included information about effectively administering an estate.

Mavros co-presented, “Closing the Estate and Final Accounting.”

At Lamb McErlane, Mavros concentrates her practice in the area of trusts and estates planning and administration in the Bryn Mawr location.

Friedman Schuman attorneys Peter S. Friedman and Leona Mogavero presented the “Advanced Purchase Contract Negotiation: Maximizing Protections and Avoiding Legal Limbo” section of the seminar titled “Advanced Real Estate Transactions—A Practical Guide to Complex Matters” offered by the National Business Institute in King of Prussia.

Friedman is a founding shareholder of the firm.

He concentrates his practice on real estate law, land use and zoning, and corporate and business law.

Mogavero is a principal of the firm and concentrates her practice in the area of creditors' rights and bankruptcy.

She has experience representing financial institutions and other lenders in the negotiation and documentation of commercial loan workouts and restructures, as well as in enforcement and asset recovery.

Paul D. Krepps, shareholder in the public entity and civil rights litigation practice group at Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin in Pittsburgh, presented “Mass Disturbances: Law and Litigation” to the Allegheny County law enforcement leadership at a seminar.

Sponsored by and held on campus at the University of Pittsburgh, his presentation focused on development of the Mobile Field Force concept, the three stages of potential litigation, civil rights that are implicated in mass disturbances, and a recommended methodology for preparing for and assisting in the defense of litigation arising out of such events.

The seminar was attended by over 100 command-level police officers.

Krepps' civil rights litigation practice encompasses the representation of police officers, public officials, correction officers and administrators, teachers and school district administrators, children and youth caseworkers, and their respective municipal entities in state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

His professional memberships include the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations, the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County and the Municipal Police Officer Education and Training Commission.
