Capehart Scatchard attorneys Ashley Albano, Christopher Chu, Maria Dal Santo and Keith Nagy participated in the seventh annual Food Bank of South Jersey's “Hunger Games” food competition. The fundraiser was held at the food bank headquarters.
At this year's event, 15 corporate teams received one box of mystery ingredients and had 45 minutes to create a dish for three judges in a live cooking competition.
Each participating team consisted of four members and a culinary adviser mentor who worked together to create a meal from a box of food items that the food bank typically distributes through its pantry network.
Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano is the 2019 presenting sponsor of Team Foster's “Ruff Ride”—a 24-hour spin relay that raises money to pair injured and disabled veterans with service dogs in the tri-state area.
The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. May 31 and last until 11 a.m. June 1.
Ruff Ride challenges businesses, organizations and other teams to work together and keep their bike pedals spinning for 24 consecutive hours.
Individual and team prizes will be awarded for most watts generated, most funds raised and Ruff Ride MVP. Music and food will be provided.
Team Foster is an all-volunteer nonprofit founded by Pond Lehocky attorney and Army veteran Nick Liermann to honor the memory of his friend and fellow servicemember Captain Erick Foster, who was killed in action in 2007 in Iraq.
Liermann and Team Foster raise money to partner service dogs with veterans suffering from combat-related disabilities such as post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury.
