MacElree Harvey announced that John F. McKenna was elected president of the Chester County Estate Planning Council.
The Chester County Estate Planning Council includes attorneys, accountants, insurance agents, stockbrokers, trust officers and nonprofit directors, as well as other specialists in related professions in Chester County.
The goal of the CCEPC is to assist members in rendering better services to their clients by highlighting pertinent developments within the field of estate planning.
At MacElree Harvey, McKenna heads the firm's trusts and estates litigation group.
He represents clients in all estates and trusts matters including litigation administration, complex guardianships, will contests, trust termination and modifications, corporate disputes, contract interpretation, real estate disputes, consumer protection and broker liability litigation.
McKenna is also a mediator, who mediated both the above types of matters, as well as other civil and commercial disputes.

Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads announced Ernest D. Holtzheimer was appointed as an inaugural co-president of the Philadelphia Diversity Law Group Alumni Association and will serve a two-year term.
Holtzheimer previously participated in the PDLG Summer Program in 2014 where he was a summer associate with Montgomery McCracken.
Holtzheimer is an associate in the firm's business department, where he provides guidance to companies at all stages of their life cycle, from formation to exit, on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity transactions, debt financing transactions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, commercialization and licensing of technology, commercial agreements and other general corporate matters.
As a member of the business and venture capital community, Holtzheimer serves on the board of managers for an institutional venture fund and the advisory board for an international angel investment group.
He writes and speaks on topics such as planning profitable exit strategies and obtaining angel and venture capital financing for early-stage companies.
Holtzheimer is also an editor of Montgomery McCracken's Private Business Counsel blog and a member of the firm's diversity and associates committees.
Holtzheimer received his Juris Doctor from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law.

An order was issued by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania concerning appointments to its civil procedural rules committee.
Order #695 Civil Procedural Rules Docket Per Curiam Order on May 1 appointed Clifford A. Rieders, as a member of the civil procedural rules committee for a term of five years, commencing July 1.
Rieders is a partner in the Williamsport law firm of Rieders, Travis, Humphrey, Waters & Dohrmann.
Rieders received his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.
He is a past president of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, now the Pennsylvania
Association of Justice, and past president of the Federal Bar Association, Central Pennsylvania region.
He is a nationally board-certified trial advocate in civil law and procedure and is a life member of the American Law Institute where he served on a number of consultative groups.
Rieders currently serves on the Supreme Court's standard civil jury instruction committee where he assists to update standard jury instructions to help achieve a plain English approach.
Rieders' practice ranges from medical malpractice, multidistrict litigation, appellate work and commercial litigation.
He is chief counsel for a community bank as well.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
