Philadelphia labor, employment and workers' compensation law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson announced that attorney Elizabeth I. Deegan joined the firm.
She focuses her practice on family law, including child custody, divorce, child support establishment and modification, equitable distribution of assets and debts, domestic violence issues, grandparents' rights, adoptions, name changes and relocation issues.
Deegan started her career as a certified legal intern at Philadelphia Legal Assistance, where she helped low-income people navigate domestic violence, protection from abuse, and custody matters.
After graduating from the Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, she began focusing her practice on working with union members in all aspects of family law issues.
Active in her community, Deegan continues to volunteer with Philadelphia Legal Assistance. She also developed a pro bono practice that helps transgender individuals with name changes in Philadelphia.

Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano, Kline & Specter, Simon & Simon and Saltz Mongeluzzi Barrett & Bendesky are set to face off against each other Thursday.
Instead of cross-examining witnesses and raising objections, the firms will be swinging for the fences to raise money for charity.
Teams comprised of lawyers and staff from each firm will square off in a softball tournament at Sweetbriar Fields in West Fairmount Park.
Games are slated to begin at 4 p.m. Each team will play two games.
All proceeds will be donated to a charity of the winning firm's choice.
Pond Lehocky will be playing for Kids Chance of Pennsylvania, a nonprofit organization that provides scholarship grants for college and vocational education to the children of Pennsylvania workers killed or seriously injured in work-related accidents.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
