The Credit Counseling Center, a Bucks County nonprofit organization, celebrated its 25th year of operations at the expansion of its office located within the First National Bank of Newtown in Richboro on May 7 with a ribbon cutting and reception hosted by executive director Joan Reading and the Credit Counseling Center board of directors.

McNees Wallace & Nurick attorney Mark Van Blargan is slated as guest presenter at Boyer & Ritter's nonprofit seminar on Accounting for the Nonprofit: Tidying Up Your Accounting to be held June 21 at the Carlisle Country Club.
Van Blargan will speak on the topic of critical governance policies.
Van Blargan is a member of the McNees management committee, chair of the McNees health care practice group, and a member of the education law practice group.
His law practice focuses on serving large health care providers, colleges and universities.

Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires & Newby partner David Rosenberg is slated to present at the Pennsylvania Defense Institute annual Conference on Autonomous Vehicles (Who's Driving, Who's Liable) taking place at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort in Bedford on July 12.
Rosenberg defends clients in premises, products and general liability cases, insurance matters, commercial litigation and employment issues.
He is on the board of directors of the International Association of Defense Counsel and is the former president of the IADC Foundation board of directors.
He was also named to the faculty of the 33rd annual International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy at Stanford Law School.
Rosenberg is an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he teaches trial theory and practice and assists in the coaching of the mock trial team.
Rosenberg is a certified mediator in Pennsylvania concentrating on subrogation, property insurance and first-party insurance dispute resolution matters.

The Chartwell Law Offices named Alexander J. Kwasny and Brian M. Searls as partners in the firm's Philadelphia office.
Kwasny defends clients in workers' compensation matters.
He represents a variety of employer entities including municipalities, retailers, hospitals and health care providers, and others before workers' compensation judges in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, as well as before the Workers' Compensation Appeal Board.
Searls focuses his practice on general litigation including vehicular liability and premises liability, residential property loss and subrogation.
He also serves as general counsel for a number of clients in the captive insurance markets.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
