Members of the Philadelphia chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators' new board welcomed their new 2019-20 board of directors, led by chapter president Maureen Austin, office administrator of Blank Rome, at a Meet the Board Luncheon Event.
ALA's mission is to improve the quality of management in law firms and other legal services organizations and promote and enhance the competence and professionalism of legal administrators and all members of the management team.

Charny, Karpousis, Altieri & Donoian announced its partner Michelle Altieri was named to the Camden County Bar Association board of trustees.
She is a former co-chair of the association's family law committee.
Altieri concentrates her practice in divorce and family law.
Her client representation includes divorce, child custody, spousal and child support, property settlement agreements, prenuptial agreements, domestic violence and adoption.
She has experience with all phases of divorce litigation and settlement negotiations, mediations and arbitrations.
In addition to her work with the Camden County Bar Association, Altieri is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and its family law executive committee.
She is also a master in the Thomas S. Forkin Family Law Inns of Court and serves as the programming co-chair as well as a Matrimonial Early Settlement panelist in Burlington, New Jersey, and Gloucester, New Jersey, counties.

McNees Wallace & Nurick attorneys Kandice Kerwin Hull, Dana Chilson and Esch McCombie are scheduled to present the webinar “Solutions for Blight in Pennsylvania” on June 25 from noon to 12:45 p.m.
Hull, Chilson and McCombie will discuss solutions that allow developers to assist communities in tackling blight properties.
They will cover eminent domain options, redevelopment authorities, land banks and how public/private partnerships can be beneficial to all concerned.
Hull is chair of the McNees eminent domain practice group and leads the litigation practice group.
She focuses on the representation of clients in complex commercial litigation in business disputes and has experience in real property litigation.
Chilson practices in the McNees eminent domain and litigation practice groups and chairs the insurance practice group.
She counsels condemnors and condemnees and has experience defending clients in both state and federal condemnation actions.
McCombie practices in the McNees real estate, oil and natural gas and pipeline and oil/gas infrastructure practice groups.
He focuses his practice on land use matters and permit approvals at the municipal, county and state level.

KLA Marketing Associates president and chief strategist Kimberly Rice presented “Evoke the Secret Sauce to Help New Lawyers Get Off to a Strong Start” at the Association of Legal Administrators national conference in Grapevine, Texas.
In her presentation, Rice outlined the key action steps that firm administrators can take to support new lawyers build a personal brand and build and expand their network while getting and staying connected with those individuals who may be productive referral partners or prospects.
Rice also addressed the importance of firms investing in training their newer lawyers in skill sets that are requisite to become business generators and leaders.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
