Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires & Newby employment group partner Julie Kinkopf received a Delaware Valley HR Consultant of the Year Award.
The award began in 2001 to celebrate the human resources industry and recognize professionals who exemplify achievement within the Delaware Valley's human resources community.
It is a joint effort between the Chester County Human Resource Association, the Delaware County Society for Human Resource Management, Delaware SHRM, Greater Valley Forge HR Association, HR Association of Southern New Jersey, Philly SHRM and the Tri-State HR Management Association chapters of SHRM.
In her legal practice, Kinkopf represents employers in all aspects of the employment relationship, from managing employee relations and compliance with changing employment laws to reducing the risk of employment-related claims.
In addition, she represents employers before various governmental agencies as well as in state and federal courts.
Before joining Weber Gallagher, Kinkopf owned her own firm in Bala Cynwyd, where she represented clients in all areas of employment law.
She writes and speaks on employment topics as well as on best practices for employers and employee handbooks.
Elected and Appointed
Lamb McErlane partner Vince Pompo was elected president of the board of directors at Lundale Farm Inc.
Pompo previously served as vice president and board secretary.
Lundale Farm is a nonprofit community of farmers located in Pottstown devoted to sustainable farming, land conservation and enhanced local food supply.
At Lamb McErlane Pompo is partner and chairman of the municipal law department and the environmental law practice group.
His practice areas include municipal, land use and environmental law.
Pompo is chairman of the East Bradford Township, Chester County board of supervisors.
He is also the township solicitor for a number of Chester County municipalities including New Garden, Sadsbury, West Whiteland and Willistown Townships, as well as several municipal authorities including Caln Township Municipal Authority, Chester County Solid Waste Authority, New Garden Sewer Authority, Oxford Area Sewer Authority, Oxford Area Recreation Authority, Pottstown Borough Authority and Valley Forge Sewer Authority.
Speakers
Conrad O'Brien partners Patricia Hamill and Lorie Dakessian, chair and vice-chair of the firm's Title IX, due process and campus discipline practice area, respectively, spoke at the Rowan University 7th annual Title IX Summit.
They spoke on “The Changing Landscape of Title IX: How Regulations and Case Law Have Impacted Policies and Procedure.”
Hamill and Dakessian represent college students nationwide who have been subjected to campus disciplinary proceedings or who have been disciplined by their colleges for alleged sexual misconduct following such proceedings.
They also represent professors in alleged code of conduct violations or tenure disputes. Hamill also served on the panel “Balancing the Scales in the Face of Political Turmoil” regarding the proposed Title IX regulations.
The panelists were all Title IX experts with diverse backgrounds and experience.
Additions
Saxton & Stump added attorney Sarah K. Ivy as shareholder and announced the launch of its employee benefits and executive compensation group.
Ivy will serve as chair of the group and brings more than 20 years of experience advising employers and other employee benefits plan sponsors on all employee benefit and executive compensation plan issues arising under the Internal Revenue Code and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
As part of her practice, Ivy counsels employers and plan sponsors on retirement plans, health and welfare benefit plans and executive compensation arrangements.
She also advises clients being investigated by the IRS and the Department of Labor.
Further, Ivy works with transaction lawyers to identify and resolve employee benefits and executive compensation legal issues arising in all forms of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
