Horn Williamson announced that Philadelphia trial attorney Francesca Iacovangelo joined the firm as senior counsel.

She will serve as part of the firm's construction defect legal team.

Iacovangelo began her career as a public defender in Chester County, where she tried major felony cases.

She then spent 10 years as a civil trial lawyer at private firms and as in-house counsel for a large insurance company.

She negotiates large settlements in personal injury matters and handles consumer cases against major companies.

She earned a law degree from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law.

Iacovangelo volunteers with the Philadelphia Bar Association, where she serves on the board of governors, and with the Justinian Society of Philadelphia, where she serves as treasurer.

She also serves as a board member of the Villanova Law School Alumni Association.

Barley Snyder announced that it hired five current law school students as summer associates for 2019.

All five will travel to different offices throughout the firm to learn from attorneys and professionals, receiving experience with the day-to-day and long-term responsibilities of an attorney.

The class is one of the largest classes of summer associates at Barley Snyder.

Eric Ondo will enter his third year at Penn State Law in the fall. He worked an externship at the Pennsylvania Office of General Counsel in 2018.

Katelyn E. Rohrbaugh studied abroad in London in the spring of 2015 with the criminal justice department of West Chester University. She starts her third year at Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law in the fall.

Adam Rutter recently completed his first year at Penn State Law, where he is also working toward an MBA.

Benjamin Sheppard attends the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. He spent the last two summers working in Harrisburg-area law offices.

Peter Yingst started his legal career as a paralegal in Washington, D.C., before enrolling at Temple University Beasley School of Law. Yingst is entering his third year of law school.

Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads attorneys Steve Pachman and Dylan Henry spoke at the University of Michigan Injury Prevention Center's Sport Concussion Summit, “Mind, Body, & Spirit … treating the entire athlete: An evidence-based approach to sports medicine and concussion prevention.”

Pachman and Henry presented “Unresolved science and law of concussion and CTE” to clinicians, medical doctors, physician assistants and athletic trainers as well as coaches, researchers and legislators.

The two-day summit is organized by the University of Michigan Injury Prevention Center and featured presentations sports injury doctors, athletic trainers and experts.

Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott member Earl M. Forte published his fifth book, “The Pennsylvania Voidable Transactions Act, A Practical Guide for Lawyers and Clients (Fraudulent Transfer Handbook)”.

The guide outlines the changes to the Pennsylvania Uniform Voidable Transactions Act, which became law in 2018.

The guide is the fourth supplement to the original Fraudulent Transfer Handbook, which was published in 2013 as a practical guide for lawyers, experts and their clients.

The series is designed to provide a concise and useful discussion of fraudulent transfer law and some of the common issues that arise in fraudulent transfer cases.

The series also addresses the impact of the Voidable Transactions Act, which represents the most significant change in fraudulent transfer law in a generation.

“The Pennsylvania Voidable Transactions Act, A Practical Guide for Lawyers and Clients (Fraudulent Transfer Handbook)” is available in paperback and Kindle versions at Amazon Books.

Forte advises clients across a variety of industries on issues presented in commercial disputes and bankruptcy cases and has experience with business torts and fraudulent transfer and breach of fiduciary duty.

He also has experience in commercial, financial and corporate workouts.

As a trial lawyer, he handles matters in federal and state courts, bankruptcy courts and receiverships and courts of appeal.
