The March of Dimes revealed the four women it will honor from Chester County in its 30th annual Salute to Women of Achievement.
The honorees raised funds for the March of Dimes' mission to improve the health of babies.
The honorees are: Maryanne Parsons, president of Partners in Outreach; Sandra L. Knapp, partner at Gawthrop Greenwood; Dr. Karen Pinsky, chief quality officer at Chester County Hospital; and Kathryn Evans, executive director of Church Housing Corp.
The honorees are set to be celebrated at the Salute to Women of Achievement event Oct. 16 at Aronimink Golf Club.
|Elected and Appointed
Timoney Knox announced that Christine M. Gordon was elected to the board of directors of the Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund.
The Dolan Fund is a nonprofit organization that assists families caring for children with serious illnesses, disabilities and injuries by providing financial assistance for needs that are not covered by insurance, as well as respite programs, non-cash items, advocacy and financial management education to families living or seeking treatment in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
Gordon, an attorney in Timoney Knox's education law group, primarily represents parents and students with disabilities in special education matters as well as in education-related matters involving school bullying, discrimination, harassment, sexual and/or physical abuse and student discipline.

The board of directors of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House announced that it named Holland & Knight partner Leonard A. Bernstein as its new board president.
Bernstein served as a board member of PRMH over the last seven years, most recently as vice president.
At Holland & Knight, Bernstein specializes on financial regulatory, consumer compliance and banking matters as a financial services attorney and is a member of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers.
He is one of the founding partners of Holland & Knight's new Philadelphia office, which opened one year ago.
Bernstein is past board president of the pro bono legal nonprofit The Suppot Center for Child Advocates, past president of Temple Adath Israel and board secretary of the national Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Organization.

Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano partner Thomas Giordano Jr. is slated to present a continuing legal education session titled “Looking at Your Social Security Client Holistically” at the upcoming American Association of Justice Convention from July 25 to 31.
The session is aimed at helping attorneys identify all of their disability clients' legal rights and maximize all potential benefits available.
The presentation will walk attorneys through five questions disability attorneys should ask to serve their clients' interests. It will also cover how to market disability practices most effectively.
The 2019 AAJ convention is set to take place at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego. Giordano's session is scheduled for 9:20 a.m. July 27.
Giordano is the head of Pond Lehocky Disability, the firm's Social Security disability and disability insurance department.
Giordano currently serves as the chair of the AAJ's Social Security disability committee.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
