Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg hosted a real estate roundtable with a panel of Philadelphia leaders to discuss the Pew Charitable Trust annual “State of the City” report.
Serving panelists and moderator were Larry Eichel, project director of the Pew Charitable Trusts; Harold Epps, commerce director of the city of Philadelphia; Rich Gottlieb, president and COO of the Keystone Property Group; Mitch Marcus, managing director of Jones Lang LaSalle; and Brett Feldman, of counsel at Klehr Harrison.

Wisler Pearlstine announced that partner Claudia L. Huot presented at Lehigh University's 47th annual Special Education Law Conference.
The title of her presentation was “Collaboration Between Families and Schools: Are We on the Same Page?”
The session discussed ways that schools and families can communicate and collaborate to focus on free appropriate public education.
Huot advises clients in aspects of school law including representation in administrative proceedings, appeals and litigation in state and federal court, reviewing and drafting board policies, and advising clients on special education, discipline and other student issues on a day-to-day basis.
She regularly makes legal presentations to school district clients and at various school law seminars, prepares written materials and plans, and presents at seminars regarding school law matters.
Huot also has experience in general litigation, trying cases to verdict in federal and state courts in Pennsylvania.
Hoat graduated from Widener University Delaware Law School.

Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young insurance financial and regulatory specialist Stephen J. Johnson spoke on two panels at the Pennsylvania Association of Mutual Insurance Companies Executive and Board Roundtable in Bedford Springs.
Johnson's first panel, “Corporate Governance Framework & Board Policies and Procedures,” discussed company oversight and board structure, including duties of the board and its committees.
His second panel, “Practices for Directing Senior Management & Critical Risks Areas Impacting Business Activities,” covered business code of conduct and ethics, evaluation of executive performance and compensation, and succession planning.
Johnson, who previously served as deputy insurance commissioner of the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, advises on insurance and insurer-related financial transactions with a focus on identifying and addressing insurance regulatory issues.
He works with clients on the insurance regulatory implications of mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures; implementation of new regulatory requirements; reviewing transactional documents for insurance regulatory issues and possible alternatives; designing and developing presentations to regulators; and creating and assessing workout options for troubled companies.

Wertz focuses on serving clients in terms of land use.
After law school, he clerked for Judge Elizabeth Kellum of the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals and, more recently, for Judge Michael Flannelly of the York Court of Common Pleas.
During law school, he externed for the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on immigration and the National Interest in Washington, D.C.
Wertz received his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
