Timoney Knox added Tyler J. Dunphy as an associate attorney and member of the firm's students' rights team.
Dunphy focuses his practice on education law, specifically, the needs of children and their families as it relates to special education law and students' rights, including transgender rights.
Dunphy advocates for the rights of others and practices in the areas of employment discrimination and civil litigation.
Dunphy is a member of the Pennsylvania, Montgomery, Philadelphia and American bar associations.

Chung, Farrington and McCaffrey represent insurance carriers and employers in the defense of workers' compensation claims at all stages of litigation.

McNees Wallace & Nurick attorneys Randy Varner and Paul Morcom are set to present the webinar “Sales Tax Overpayments” for the Pennsylvania Society of Tax and Accounting Professionals on July 26.
Varner and Morcom will discuss reverse audits and recovering overpaid sales tax.
Varner is chair of the McNees state and local tax practice group.
He represents commercial and industrial entities in all areas of state and local taxation, focusing on state corporate net income, capital stock/foreign franchise, sales and use, and gross receipts taxes, as well as local property taxes.
Morcom practices in the McNees state and local tax practice group where he represents commercial and industrial entities in all areas of state and local taxation, focusing on local property taxes and real estate assessment appeals, as well as state corporate net income, capital stock/foreign franchise, sales and use, PURTA and gross receipts taxes.
He is chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association tax law section.
They are co-authors of the property tax assessment treatise “Assessment Law and Procedure in Pennsylvania.”

The Philadelphia Bar Association announced that it was selected for a fifth time by the American Bar Association for the Harrison Tweed Award, making it the first bar association in the country to be a five-time winner of one of the award.
The Philadelphia Bar Association was selected as a winner based on the work the association and its civil Gideon and access to justice task force undertook to improve access to justice and create a right to counsel for eligible low-income Philadelphia tenants who are facing eviction.
The presentation of the award is slated to take place Aug. 9 in San Francisco during the ABA's annual meeting.
The award recognizes the achievements of bar associations to help provide access to justice for indigent individuals.

Philadelphia labor, employment and workers' compensation law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson announced that attorney Alidz Oshagan was reelected to serve as treasurer of the Philadelphia chapter of the Labor Employment Relations Association.
Oshagan focuses her practice on the representation of unions in labor and employment matters.
She served as treasurer for Philadelphia LERA since 2017.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
