Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads announced that its chief diversity and inclusion officer Alfred W. Zaher was appointed to serve as a board member for the Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus.
Zaher is a partner and chair of Montgomery McCracken’s intellectual property department. He focuses his practice on patent, trademark and trade secret litigation, licensing and counseling.
In his role as the firm’s chief diversity and inclusion officer, Zaher is responsible for overseeing, implementing and providing leadership to Montgomery McCracken’s diversity initiatives.
He currently serves on the board of the National LGBT Bar Association and the board of the Gay and Lesbian Lawyers of Philadelphia.

Barley Snyder announced that attorney Reilly Noetzel was named to the board of trustees for the Lancaster Public Library.
Noetzel joined Barley Snyder in 2017 and is a member of the firm’s real estate practice group and the construction, senior living and hospitality industry groups.
He is a former board member at the Landis Valley Museum in Lancaster County.

Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg announced that Paige Willan was appointed by Gov. Tom Wolf as the newest member of the Pennsylvania State Transportation Commission.
Willan replaces Cristina Cavalieri of Philadelphia, whose term expired this year.
Willan focuses her practice on providing resolutions to commercial disputes ranging from breach-of-contract issues to business tort and statutory claims.
In addition to her commercial dispute resolution practice, she represents clients in investigations conducted by federal and state government agencies as well as internal corporate investigations.
The STC is a 15-member body, chaired by the secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The STC serves as the board of directors to PennDOT.
It evaluates Pennsylvania’s transportation system and provides policy-driven direction with respect to the development of the Twelve Year Transportation Program.

McNees Wallace & Nurick attorneys Jennifer Will, Crystal Clark and Kathleen Bruder are slated to present at the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs 2019 PA Municipal Legal Update from Aug. 7-8 at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel.
Will’s presentation “#Me Too Movement Update” on Aug. 7 is geared toward helping municipalities handle internal complaints of harassment appropriately while creating a work environment where sexual harassment is not tolerated at any level.
Clark is set to present the session “Public Service: This Road is Paved with Good Intentions” on Aug. 7.
It will explore the rules governing the behavior of elected and appointed officials and brainstorm ways in which those rules can be inadvertently broken.
Bruder’s Aug. 7 session, “The Latest on government Relations,” will update attendees on the status of what is transpiring inside the state capitol and how it affects municipalities and their clientele.
Lastly, Bruder is set to present a second session Aug. 8 alongside Brian C. Krause of Vulnerability Solutions Group LLC.
The presentation “Police Track 8: Act 44 & School Resource Officers” will review information relating to Pennsylvania’s School Safety and Security Law.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
