Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young attorney Karl S. Myers served as a panelist at a Pennsylvania Bar Institute webinar.
The CLE, titled “The New Appellate Court Rule on Citing Non-Precedential Opinions: What Does It Really Mean?,” discussed the recent Pennsylvania appellate rule change that allows parties to cite and rely on non-precedential appellate court decisions.
Myers presented the CLE along with retired Pennsylvania Superior Court Judge Carl Solano.
Myers, chair of Stradley Ronon’s appellate practice group, is a Pennsylvania appellate lawyer who argues and briefs cases before the appellate courts of Pennsylvania and other jurisdictions.
He maintains a focus on cases before the Pennsylvania supreme, commonwealth and superior courts, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, including litigation involving state constitutional challenges, appeals of state agency decisions, insurance insolvency and regulatory matters, Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law requests, government contracting and bid-protest disputes, complex commercial actions, and other types of civil cases.

Blank Rome announced that Holly L. Eicher joined the firm’s Philadelphia and Princeton, New Jersey, offices as of counsel in the corporate litigation and gaming groups.
She joins Blank Rome from American Racing and Entertainment LLC, where she served as regional director of compliance and legal counsel.
Eicher has more than 20 years of legal and operational management experience in the gaming and hospitality industries, including handling legal, regulatory and operational issues involving casinos, hotels, restaurants, retail and entertainment venues.
She focuses her practice on providing compliance counsel for domestic and multinational corporations as well as government agencies.
She has experience with regulatory compliance; government relations; the filing of individual, entity and vendor licensing applications with gaming agencies in multiple jurisdictions; contracts drafting and negotiation; drafting and revisions of internal controls; drafting and negotiating management and development agreements for both domestic and international casino-hotel projects; establishing Title 31 anti-money laundering programs; negotiation of construction project contracts; and complex construction mediation and arbitration.
She also handles various matters involving labor relations, employment discrimination, union certification and collective bargaining, risk management, workers compensation, personal injury, real estate and general litigation.
During her career, Eicher served as corporate counsel, general counsel and chief compliance officer for multiple casino-hotels and was involved in four casino-hotel openings.
She also served as deputy attorney general for the state of Nevada
Additionally, Eicher has experience as a gaming and hospitality consultant for a major accounting firm.
Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Nevada, Eicher also held employee gaming licenses in Pennsylvania and New York, as well as lottery and racing commission licenses in New York.

Leslie Miller Greenspan, a partner at Tucker Law Group, is set to chair the Women Against Abuse board of directors.
The 43-year-old nonprofit organization is a domestic violence agency and operates
Philadelphia’s only emergency shelters for survivors fleeing abusive relationships.
Greenspan began serving on the Women Against Abuse board since 2014 and served as vice chair of the board as well as co-chair of the events committee.
Greenspan is a litigator who handles both civil and criminal cases.
Her work focuses primarily on employment discrimination cases, civil rights litigation and complex commercial disputes.
Greenspan leads trial teams in both state and federal court and handles all aspects of litigation.
Greenspan represents local universities and colleges in the Philadelphia area in complex, high-stakes or high-profile cases involving employment discrimination, police incidents of excessive force, and student issues.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
