A federal inmate who claimed he was subjected to cruel and unusual punishment in violation of the Eighth Amendment will have a second chance in his lawsuit against prison officials.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit on Wednesday reversed a district court’s dismissal of plaintiff Anthony Mammana’s claims against the Federal Bureau of Prisons and officials at the Allenwood Low Federal Correctional Institution.
