Julie Wieczorek Fritsch joined Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano, where she will work as an associate out the firm’s Pittsburgh office.
She is certified as a workers’ compensation law specialist by the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
Before joining Pond Lehocky, Fritsch was a partner at a Pittsburgh law firm where she represented claimants and plaintiffs in workers’ compensation, personal injury, veterans and
Social Security disability matters at the administrative, trial and appellate levels.
Prior to practice, she completed a judicial clerkship with Judge Jolene Grubb Kopriva of the Blair County Court of Common Pleas.
Fritsch received her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. She is also accredited by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to represent veterans with claims for disability benefits before the VA.

Saxton & Stump added attorney Maureen Gimpel Maley as senior counsel for the firm’s labor and employment and internal investigations groups.
Maley has knowledge of employment law, litigation, internal investigations, risk management and contract negotiation.
Maley will also serve in the firm’s business and corporate, health care, senior care services and hospitality groups.
Maley was previously vice president and deputy general counsel of employment and litigation for a post-acute care provider, where she advised on legal matters impacting long-term care and therapy businesses.
Maley also negotiated and mediated employment and commercial disputes, consulted on day-to-day human resources operations, and developed training programs.
Most recently, Maley was vice president of employment and business affairs at a regional gaming operator.
In this role, she advised the corporate team and operators of gaming and racing facilities on all aspects of employment law.
After she received her Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law, Maley began her career with Dechert Price & Rhoads (now Dechert) in Philadelphia.
|Elected and Appointed
Barley Snyder announced that attorney Keith Mooney was named the president of the board of directors of the Berks Arts Council in Reading.
The nonprofit Berks Arts Council holds events and concerts throughout the year in Berks County.
Mooney began serving on the board of directors eight years ago and recently finished a term as the board’s vice president.
Mooney is a member of Barley Snyder’s employment, business and real estate practice groups as well as the municipal and municipal authority and construction practice groups.
He works around Berks County as a municipal solicitor and is the former solicitor for the city of Reading.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
