Speakers
Volpe and Koenig shareholder Michael Snyder was interviewed in studio live on Channel 29’s Good Day Philadelphia about The Phillies v. Harrison/Erickson by hosts Mike Jerrick and Alex Holley.
Known locally as the Phillie Phanatic Lawsuit, the case is about a company seeking to terminate the rights to the Phillie Phanatic costume under the copyright laws.
Snyder broke down the complexities of the case from an intellectual property law standpoint.
Elected and Appointed
Barley Snyder announced that partner Joseph R. Falcon III was named a membership board member of the American Bar Association section of intellectual property law.
The ultimate goal of the membership board is to advance section and association membership development objectives and commitments and engage in collaborative and one-on-one efforts to support and retain existing members and to encourage new members to join the section.
The position is Falcon’s second with the ABA section of intellectual property.
In 2018, the group appointed him as the vice chair of patent legislation, a position where he helps oversee and assist the development of ABA policy on pending federal legislation relating to U.S. patent laws or affecting U.S. patent rights.
Falcon is a member of the Barley Snyder intellectual property practice group and is based in the firm’s Malvern office.
He also is a chair for the intellectual property law section at the Chester County Bar Association and is a 2013 graduate of Leadership Chester County.
