Honored

The Pennsylvania Bar Association workers' compensation law section is set to present its Irvin Stander Memorial Award to Barbara E. Holmes, a partner at Blaufeld Schiller & Holmes in Pittsburgh, during its annual fall meeting Sept. 26-27 at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey.

The award is named in honor of the late Judge Irvin Stander and is presented to an attorney who demonstrates professionalism and dedication to the administration of workers' compensation law.

Holmes focuses her practice on representing injured workers in workers' compensation claims and disability applicants in Social Security claims. Prior to joining Blaufeld Schiller, she spent six years practicing general litigation.

Holmes writes and presents on workers' compensation topics for numerous Pennsylvania Bar Institute resources and programs and served as an instructor for the Workers' Compensation Practicum at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Holmes is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Allegheny County bar associations. She is a former chair of the PBA workers' compensation law section and a past president of the Allegheny County Bar Association workers' compensation section.
