Ronald L. Greenblatt, founding partner of Greenblatt, Pierce, Funt & Flores, was a featured presenter at this summer's first annual conference of the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
"Talking Criminal Law at the Beach: PA and NJ Practice Nuances, Tips, & Pitfalls to Avoid" took place at the Borgata Hotel and Casino, providing a full day of education on procedures, statutes and case law for attorneys of all levels and years of experience.
Greenblatt participated in a panel discussion titled "Indictables, Misdemeanors and Felonies, Oh My!"
The session compared how criminal charges are treated in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, discussed strategies in expungements, reviewed sentencing trends, and examined the collateral consequences of conviction.
Greenblatt's panel included moderator Caroline G. Donato of West Chester-based MacElree Harvey and Louis M. Barbone of Jacobs and Barbone in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Greenblatt is the managing partner of Greenblatt Pierce.
He litigates criminal trials on charges ranging from homicide, homicide by vehicle, sexual assault, serious drug offenses, fraud and other white-collar crimes, internet crimes, and DUI/DWI.

Samuel E. Cohen, shareholder in the professional liability department at Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, was appointed to serve on the Special Olympics PA-Philadelphia executive advisory board for a three-year term.
The executive advisory board assists the Special Olympics Philadelphia chapter in accessing community and corporate contacts, raising funding for the program, providing support of its strategic objectives and generally advocating on behalf of its athletes and mission.
Cohen is a member of the securities and investments professional liability practice group at Marshall Dennehey, where he represents broker-dealers, registered representatives and registered investment advisors in state and federal court and in FINRA arbitration proceedings.
He is a graduate of the Temple University Beasley School of Law.

Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young announced that Barry L. Klein, an employee benefits and executive compensation attorney, joined the firm's Philadelphia office as partner from Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani.
Klein was chair of his prior firm's employee benefits and executive compensation practice. A member of Stradley Ronon's tax practice group, Klein has experience with employee benefits matters and the employee benefits industry.
He began his career at the National Office of the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C., and he was in-house employee benefits counsel at the Prudential Insurance Co. of America and at The Vanguard Group Inc.
Klein advised these companies with respect to the full range of services and products that they provide to employee benefit plans and was instrumental in the design and marketing of new products.
Klein advises employers on the potential opportunities and the limitations of their employee benefits and compensation arrangements.
Klein advises employers, including sole proprietors, partnerships, multinational companies, major hospital centers and universities, with respect to the benefits and compensation they offer employees.
He counsels employers with respect to employee benefits and executive compensation aspects of mergers and acquisitions, change in control and golden parachute analysis, withdrawal and mass withdrawal liability, and consolidation and spin-off of plans.
Klein also advises financial services clients with respect to their obligations under ERISA on the fiduciary responsibility that arises when they manage ERISA plan assets and offer products for plans, as well as opportunities for avoiding ERISA coverage.
Klein helps clients set up funds that comply with ERISA's venture capital operating company and real estate operating company exemptions and helps clients set up hedge funds that are subject to or exempt from ERISA.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
