Earlier this year, we asked a number of our Professional Excellence honorees for advice. We asked our Best Law Firm Mentor honorees for the advice they would give to young lawyers in a rapidly changing profession; we asked our Distinguished Leaders, Unsung Heroes and Power Players for the best advice they ever received in their own careers; and we asked each of our Lifetime Achievement honorees to name one thing they've learned over the course of their career that they wish they knew as a young lawyer. The answers we received were often illuminating and, taken together, provide a solid road map for navigating not just the legal profession but, in many cases, life. We've gathered the best responses here in hopes that our readers—young lawyers and established practitioners alike— will be encouraged, inspired and empowered.
