Ward Greenberg Heller & Reidy announced that Ivy Waisbord joined its Philadelphia office as a new associate.
Waisbord will be representing businesses in the areas of products liability, premises liability, toxic tort and tort defense.
Waisbord is a 2016 graduate of the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. While in law school, she served as a student attorney in the Youth Advocacy Clinic where she represented youth clients in immigration and family law matters.
Prior to joining Ward Greenberg, Waisbord worked as an assistant counsel to a Philadelphia-area nonprofit organization.
She began her legal career as an assistant corporation counsel with the New York City Law Department, where she was appointed to the Special Victims Unit.
Speakers
June Essis, a partner at Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires & Newby, is set to attend the 52nd annual Transportation Law Institute in Minneapolis as a moderator and speaker on a panel.
The panel, titled, "Little Red Corvette, Baby You're Much too Fast" is scheduled for Nov. 8.
The panel will compare the laws of several states, including joint and several liability, collateral sources, set-offs, apportionments, punitive damages, claims for negligent selection or negligent hiring/retention, vicarious liability and wrongful death and survivorship, relevant to the valuation of a catastrophic casualty claim based upon four factual patterns.
Events
Attorneys from Philadelphia personal injury firm Marciano & MacAvoy handed out free water bottles to the participants of the 2019 Walk Like MADD fundraiser at the Philadelphia Zoo.
The firm was also a sponsor of the MADD Walk.
Kevin R. Marciano addressed the walkers before the walk.
The firm is a long-time supporter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, having forced bars and drunk drivers to make donations to MADD in their victims' names.
The walk raised over $62,000 by the approximately 700 walkers
Announcements
Clark Hill announced that the firm moved into new offices at Two Commerce Square with approximately 34,000 square feet of space on the 26th and 27th floors, in a lease executed with Brandywine Realty Trust.
Located across the courtyard from their former location at One Commerce Square, Clark Hill's new offices have been redesigned to meet the company's specifications.
The firm's expanded space allows for up to 50 glass-front offices on the 27th floor as well as a suite of larger conference rooms, a wellness room, a work cafe and additional collaborative workspaces on the 26th floor.
The space is designed to be more efficient, with single-sized attorney offices in line with current law firm workplace trends and includes technology in virtual conferencing and presentations.
There are a number of spaces throughout for personnel to gather or collaborate, with natural light in all of the work areas.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls. The court action, filed Nov. 25 in Michigan Eastern District Court by Hooper Hathaway PC on behalf of The Town Residences LLC, accuses Crown Castle of failing to transfer approximately $30,000 in utility payments from T-Mobile in breach of a roof-top lease and assignment agreement.
