Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin announced that attorney Noah Marlier joined the firm as an associate in the firm's municipal law department.

Marlier serves as solicitor to the Montgomery County Clerk of Courts and the Upper Merion Transportation and General Authorities. He has experience working on township and water and sewer authority matters and in litigation matters.

Marlier is the current democratic candidate for Montgomery County prothonotary.

He graduated from Rutgers Law School in 2010. Upon graduation, Marlier served for over three years as an assistant district attorney in the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office where he was a member of the economic crimes unit.

He is a member of the Pennsylvania, Montgomery and Bucks County bar associations.

Speakers

Lamb McErlane partner Maureen M. McBride spoke at the Pennsylvania Physicians Legal Issues Conference, held by the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

McBride and a panel discussed the anatomy of a malpractice case. This session provided an analysis of a medical malpractice case from complaint to appeal, an explanation of how a medical malpractice case works through the court system, and advice to physicians regarding litigation stress.

At Lamb McErlane, McBride is co-chair of the firm's appellate department and a member of the firm's litigation department.

She also serves on Lamb McErlane's executive committee. McBride concentrates her practice on appellate law, medical malpractice defense and commercial litigation in state and federal courts.

McBride provides counseling and advice to an array of corporate clients and individuals. She was recently appointed by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania as a member of the civil procedural rules committee.

Susan Maslow, co-founder and partner of Antheil Maslow & MacMinn, was the chair and moderator of a program titled "Business and Ethical Challenges: Human Rights Requirements, Due Diligence, Remediation and Brand Protection" during the American Bar Association business law section's annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

The panelists include Shawn MacDonald, CEO of Verite; Alice A. Kipel, executive director of regulations and rulings at U.S. Customs and Border Protection; Stephen A. Pike, partner at Gowling WLG; David V. Snyder, professor at American University Washington College of Law; and Emily B. Holland, senior associate at White & Case.

The panel discussion provided a brief summary of the cycle of human rights violations in supply chains and summarized the growth of legislation, litigation and investor focus on supply chain human rights issues and provided practical contracting and due diligence recommendations, tools and risk assessment procedures to avoid human rights abuses.

Panelists advised on how to develop an enterprisewide understanding of, and commitment to, human rights (health and safety requirements, anti-forced labor, child labor and indentured labor constraints) while optimizing market-specific approaches.
