Hyland Levin Shapiro announced that attorneys Megan Knowlton Balne and David G. Gunther were elected to partnership.
Balne concentrates her practice in the areas of employment, counseling and commercial litigation.
She was awarded with this year's statewide Professional Achievement Award by the New Jersey State Bar Association.
She is a member of the South Jersey chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners.
She is a member of the Burlington County, New Jersey and Pennsylvania bar associations.
Balne received her law degree from Rutgers Law School-Camden.
Gunther practices in the areas of business and franchise law.
His business practice includes providing outside general counsel services to regional, national and international companies, with a particular emphasis in advising food manufacturers.
Gunther handles the franchise registration and sales programs for a number of national franchisors.
In addition to drafting franchise agreements, area development agreements and franchise disclosure documents, he regularly provides advice on franchise structuring, operational concerns and compliance with franchise disclosure and relationship laws.
He also represents franchisors in disputes with franchisees.
Gunther's franchisee-side experience includes transactional representation of a national multi-unit, multibrand franchisee that specializes in food concepts.
Gunther earned his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2009.

Partner Robert J. Salzer of Williams Family Law was a featured presenter at "Riding the Waves of Life: Divorce, Custody, and Support in an Ever-Changing World," at the "CLE Down the Shore" event hosted by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the educational arm of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
In the program, Salzer and a panel of attorneys from firms around the region addressed support, custody and divorce in both case law and practical application for attorneys and legal professionals.
Panelists included Kelley Fazzini of Hangley Aronchick Segal Pudlin & Schiller, Eileen Murphy of Berner Klaw & Watson, and Aaron Weems of Fox Rothschild.
The discussion was moderated by Jonathan Hoffman of Cozen O'Connor.
A trial attorney, Salzer focuses his practice on financially complex, high-net-worth family law matters including alimony/spousal support, divorce, equitable distribution, marital agreements, child support, child custody and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
He is a co-author of "Stress-Free Divorce," a book designed to help anyone considering or in the midst of a divorce identify and overcome common obstacles to as smooth a resolution as possible.
He is a frequent presenter on issues involved in family law.

Bucilla earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
