Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano Disability associate Joseph M. Squadroni is slated to speak to Penn Medicine's Epilepsy Support Group, informing patients and their families about their rights regarding Social Security disability benefits.
During the presentation, Squadroni will offer a basic primer on the SSD claims process and an overview of the criteria for eligibility for benefits.
He will also address the specific listed requirements relating to epilepsy.
The event is the latest in a series of speaking engagements in which Pond Lehocky associates educate patient groups about disability benefits.
The event is sponsored by Penn Medicine's neurology department.
It is scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania's Silverstein Building.
Squadroni joined Pond Lehocky Disability in 2015.
He concentrates his practice on Social Security disability. He is admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young partner Christopher C. Scarpa was elected to a two-year term to serve as vice chair of the American Bar Association tax section's committee on investment management.
The committee on investment management is responsible for monitoring, reporting and commenting on developments as they affect the federal and state taxation of regulated investment companies, hedge funds, private equity funds and tiered investment structures; taxation of the investments held by these entities; and taxation of the investors in these structures.
Scarpa focuses his practice on the taxation of pooled investment vehicles, including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, hedge funds, real estate mortgage investment conduits and other investment-related vehicles.
He advises investment companies on compliance with the requirements under Subchapter M of the Internal Revenue Code.

Saxton & Stump announced that attorneys Emily M. Bell and Jonathan E. Dalziel joined the firm's litigation team.
Bell focuses her practice on internal investigations and health care litigation.
She has a background in white-collar defense and has experience with investigators, law enforcement officials and other agencies in the identification, collection and evaluation of evidence.
As part of her practice, she represents doctors, hospitals and health care professionals in medical malpractice cases and works with individuals and corporations on risk management assessments, event investigations and policy analysis.
After receiving her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 2008, Bell served as a law clerk to retired U.S. District Judge Lawrence F. Stengel of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, who now leads Saxton & Stump's Internal Investigations practice.
In addition to her experience as an attorney, Bell was previously a certified professional midwife.
Dalziel focuses his practice in health care and commercial litigation.
He represents doctors, hospitals and health care providers in medical professional liability cases.
Dalziel also utilizes his litigation experience to represent business owners and corporate entities in his commercial litigation practice.
Most recently, Dalziel was an associate at Willman & Silvaggio in Pittsburgh, where he focused his practice on complex toxic tort and general liability cases.
Dalziel earned his Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law in 2017.
During his time at Duquesne, he was a member of the law school's trial advocacy team and interned at the Public Defender's Office of Allegheny County in the juvenile division.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
