Conrad O'Brien welcomed Steve A. Medina as an associate in the firm's main Philadelphia office.
Medina handles commercial, professional and fiduciary litigation on behalf of his clients, which include corporations, nonprofits, health systems and individuals.
Prior to joining Conrad O'Brien, Medina was an associate at two Pennsylvania-based litigation firms.
Medina earned his law degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law.
Speakers
Jeffrey G. Rapattoni, co-chair of the fraud/special investigation practice group at Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, was one of six featured speakers at the international FRAUDtalks seminar, held in Amsterdam.
The program focused on ways to investigate and mitigate insurance fraud on a global basis. Rapattoni presented "How to Use Data to Your Advantage," where he discussed how data analytics intersects with claim automation and fraud.
Resident in Marshall Dennehey's Mount Laurel, New Jersey, office, Rapattoni litigates insurance fraud and fraud-related matters throughout the state of New Jersey and other jurisdictions.
He acts as national coordinating counsel to several insurance companies and helps clients develop strategies for defending complex litigation related to medical provider fraud, PIP and other emerging insurance issues.
He also consults with insurance carriers across the country to help integrate internal analytical platforms, create risk-management protocol and conduct fraud-related investigations.
Events
Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano is a presenting sponsor of the first Kids' Chance of Pennsylvania Philadelphia Area Golf Outing.
Proceeds will benefit Kids' Chance of Pennsylvania, which provides scholarship grants for college and vocational education to the children of Pennsylvania workers killed or seriously injured in work-related accidents.
The event is set to take place Oct. 21, at Sunnybrook Golf Club in Plymouth Meeting. Registration begins at 9 a.m., with breakfast served at 9:30.
Golfers will tee off at 11 a.m. via a shotgun start. There will be a dinner and reception following the tournament at 4:30 p.m.

Pond Lehocky partner Jerry Lehocky is a member of KCPA's board of directors. Since its inception in 1997, the KCPA has awarded nearly 900 scholarships totaling more than $2 million.
Elected and Appointed
Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg announced that Denise Day, partner and co-chair of the firm's real estate and finance department, was appointed to the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia.
Day's practice focuses on representing local and national developers and investors in the acquisition, development, construction, financing, repositioning, restructuring and disposition of various property types, including office, apartment, hotel, retail, residential and mixed use.
She has experience in structuring real estate transactions, negotiating construction loans and senior and subordinated securitized and conventional loan arrangements, and in negotiating loan workouts and restructurings.
She also represents lenders in real estate and commercial loan originations and loan restructurings and workouts.
Day received her Juris Doctor from Temple University Beasley School of Law.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.

The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls. The court action, filed Nov. 25 in Michigan Eastern District Court by Hooper Hathaway PC on behalf of The Town Residences LLC, accuses Crown Castle of failing to transfer approximately $30,000 in utility payments from T-Mobile in breach of a roof-top lease and assignment agreement.
