Charny Karpousis Altieri & Donoian announced its partner Michelle Altieri was appointed co-chair of the Camden County Bar Association family law committee.
As co-chair, Altieri will be an ambassador of the bar and encourage members to plan programs, get involved in public service opportunities and recruit new members of the CCBA.
Altieri concentrates her practice in divorce and family law. Her client representation involves issues including divorce, child custody, spousal and child support, property settlement agreements, prenuptial agreements, domestic violence and adoption.
In addition to her work with the Camden County Bar Association, Altieri is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and its family law executive committee.
She is also a master in the Thomas S. Forkin Family Law Inns of Court and serves as the programming co-chair as well as a matrimonial early settlement panelist in Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties in New Jersey.

Blank Rome announced that Taylor K. Lake joined the firm's Philadelphia office as an associate in the general litigation group.
Prior to joining Blank Rome, Lake was an assistant district attorney for the District Attorney's Office of Philadelphia.
She was most recently a member of the family violence and sexual assault unit, where she prosecuted felony sexual assault and domestic violence cases in Philadelphia criminal court.
She tries felony jury trials to verdict, including conducting the underlying investigations, examining witnesses, researching and writing briefs, and handling post-sentence/verdict motions.
She also practiced in the motions unit, handling Municipal Court appeals and Common Pleas motions.

McNees Wallace & Nurick attorney Renée Lieux is slated to present the webinar "Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements: A New Option for Controlling Employer Health Care Costs in 2020" from noon to 12:45 Oct. 29.
Lieux will discuss the new for 2020 option for employers to establish an individual coverage HRA to provide employer funding for employees to purchase individual health insurance coverage on or off an exchange. She will review the benefits of the HRA and what one needs to know in order to establish one.
Lieux practices in the McNees labor and employment practice group, where she focuses on executive compensation and employee benefits.
She assists both private and publicly traded companies in the negotiation of employment agreements, severance agreements and plans, and director and executive compensation programs.
She designs, assists in the implementation of, and analyzes nonqualified deferred compensation plans, equity compensation plans and cafeteria plans.
She also assists clients with the administration, compliance and termination of defined contribution plans, defined benefit plans, profit sharing plans, 401(k) plans and employee stock purchase plans.

Attorneys from Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams are set to participate in this year's Exceptional Children Conference, hosted by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.
The conference is scheduled to take place Friday from 8:50 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Partner Thomas C. Warner is course planner for the event, which is considered one of the premier special education conferences in the commonwealth. Warner often presents on special education litigation from both the administrative and appellate levels, and also development of defensible special education programming and confidentiality/disclosure issues involving education records.
Partner Andrew E. Faust will co-present the "Year in Review," an annual segment of the conference that highlights key legislative and case law developments. Faust practices in the areas of special education, student services and child accounting, and student civil rights.
Managing partner Sharon W. Montanye will co-present "Transition to Adult Services." She has experience in special education litigation and a background as a former teacher and school administrator.
Associate Kyle J. Somers will be part of a panel discussion on "Contingent IEP Case Law." He has previous training as an educator and is a Pennsylvania-certified social studies teacher.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
