Amy SantaMaria, a principal and member of Kaplin Stewart's commercial litigation department, is scheduled to speak at the National Business Institute Business Law: Top Challenges Seminar in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, on Friday.
Her program is titled "Learn How to Tackle the Most Difficult Business Law Problems You Face."
The full-day, comprehensive program will address challenges attorneys face and create a real-world guide that is designed to equip attendees with solutions to help them better handle difficult situations that regularly arise.

Julieanne E. Steinbacher, a founding shareholder practicing elder law at Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak, is set to be honored with the third Pennsylvania Bar Association C. Dale McClain Quality of Life/Balance Award at Committee/Section Day in Harrisburg on Thursday.
Presented by the PBA quality of life/balance committee, the annual award recognizes contributions made by Pennsylvania attorneys in identifying issues relevant to balancing the professional and personal lives of their peers, as well as the progress made in assisting attorneys in maintaining and improving their overall quality of life.
The award is named after C. Dale McClain, one of the founders of the quality of life/balance committee and the 114th president of the PBA.
Steinbacher is being recognized for her dedication to rejuvenating the quality of life/balance committee and presentation on life/balance challenges, issues, guidelines and skills at many professional seminars and events.
A member of the quality of life/balance committee since 2008, Steinbacher served as chair and co-chair from 2012 to 2016.
She developed and shared life balance skills and methods, including time management and other self-preservation guidelines.
She continues to research time-management techniques and how to use technology as a benefit.
Steinbacher also presents on time management and life balance topics at various elder law institutes, the Inside/Outside Counsel Summit, and the commission on women in the profession events.
As part of her presentations, Steinbacher shares prepared materials to provide resources to other attorneys striving to affect a reasonable balance between their personal and professional lives.
In 2015, Steinbacher received a PBA Special Achievement Award for her contributions to the PBA quality of life/balance committee.
In addition to the quality of life/balance committee, Steinbacher is a former chair of the PBA elder law section, Zone Four delegate and Zone Four young lawyers division chair.
She also is a member of the PBA real property, probate and trust law section and solo and small firm section.
Steinbacher is a former president of the Lycoming Law Association and a past member of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation board of airectors.

Knox McLaughlin Gornall & Sennett added Kenzie P. Ryback as an associate. Ryback will focus her practice on estate planning, trust planning, estate administration and business and tax matters.
She is a graduate of Penn State Law.
Her legal experience includes summer associate positions at Knox Law during law school.
She also served as a certified legal intern at the Rural Economic Development Clinic in State College, creating LLCs, drafting and revising documents and contracts, and conducting legal research.
Ryback joins a team of nearly 40 attorneys who provide legal services to businesses, governmental entities, nonprofit organizations, insurance companies, financial institutions, individuals and families.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
