Johnson serves as a principal-level attorney with the firm's business law and transactions, ERISA, international practice and tax consulting practice groups.
Johnson provides tax representation and guidance in complex tax laws and disputes, corporate transactions, reporting, asset protection and cross-border issues.
Speakers
Partner Jane M. Williams of Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams presented at a joint conference of two organizations supporting students with diverse needs.
"Promoting Resilience in All Learners" was the theme of the 2019 conference of the Pennsylvania Council for Exceptional Children and the International Dyslexia Association, Pennsylvania branch.
Williams co-presented a session with fellow attorney Liliana Yazno-Bartle titled "A School District and Parent Attorney Playing Nicely in the Special Education Sandbox: 10 Soft Skills to Facilitate Collaboration and Avoid Litigation."
The program discussed how due process hearings can be taxing for all parties and how parents and school districts can foster a mutually beneficial relationship.
The PACEC is a professional association of educators dedicated to advancing the success of children with exceptionalities through advocacy, standards and professional development.
The PBIDA is a nonprofit organization that champions individuals with dyslexia and all students learning to read.
Williams represents school entities in special education and student matters.
She provides representation in all phases of special education litigation.
She is a speaker and consultant on special education and other education law-related topics and is a past president of the Pennsylvania School Board Solicitors Association.

Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano managing partner Samuel Pond is set to be presented the 2020 Peggy Browning Award, recognizing his commitment to the rights of workers and their families.
The award is presented by the Peggy Browning Fund, an organization that educates advocates for workplace justice through fellowships, workers' rights conferences, regional workshops, networking and other programs.
The fund was established in 1997 in memory of Margaret A. Browning, a labor attorney and the first union lawyer appointed a member of the National Labor Relations Board.
Elected and Appointed
Gawthrop Greenwood attorney and partner Jack Larkin was reelected to the Radnor Township board of commissioners in Delaware County.
Larkin was first elected Ward 1 commissioner in a May 2018 special election and was elected vice president of the board of commissioners last January.
He will serve alongside Commissioner Sean Farhy, who was also reelected, as well as newly elected Damien Enderle and Moira Mulroney.
Larkin is chair of Gawthrop Greenwood's litigation department, where he focuses his practice on municipal and corporate litigation.
Prior to joining Gawthrop Greenwood, Larkin was an appellate litigator in the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, where he appeared before the Pennsylvania Superior Court and handled appeals to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Barley Snyder announced that partner Jeremy D. Frey was named to the board of directors at the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce.
The membership-based organization works with partners such as schools, businesses and organizations to advance the interests of Hanover's business community.
This year, Barley Snyder is being recognized by the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce for 60 years of membership.
Frey is the chair of the Barley Snyder business practice group and is a member of the firm's real estate and finance and creditors' rights practice groups.
In addition to being on the board at the chamber, he is on the board of directors at the Hanover Country Club.
He also is a former president of the board of directors at the Hanover Area YMCA, where he helped plan and fundraise for the South Hanover YMCA.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.
