Joe Khan, of counsel at Langer, Grogan & Diver, presented "Maintaining Control of your Case in the Courtroom" to assistant city solicitors at the city of Philadelphia Law Department.
The three-hour CLE was moderated by former city solicitor Sozi Tulante and also featured retired Judge Flora Wolf of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, chief legal officer Marsha Levick of the Juvenile Law Center, and attorneys from the Law Department's child welfare unit.
At Langer Grogan Khan prosecutes complex civil matters on behalf of city, county and state governments and maintains a pro bono practice.

The Chartwell Law Offices partners Brittany Atkinson and Thomas A. Marchese presented "Cross-Jurisdictional Workers' Compensation Issues" at the 28th National Workers' Compensation and Disability Conference and Expo.
Their presentation discussed diverging jurisdictions and conflicting laws that challenge employers as more and more workers' compensation claims are filed across state lines.
NWCDC provides workers' compensation and disability management professionals real-world lessons and practical solutions from the country's largest employers.
Atkinson is a partner in the firm's Moorestown, New Jersey, office.
She focuses her practice on workers' compensation matters in New Jersey.
She defends insurance carriers against work-related injuries and issues arising therefrom.
Atkinson defends clients in cases involving chemical exposure jurisdictional questions and employment issues and argues such issues up to the New Jersey Supreme Court. Marchese is a partner in the firm's Tallahassee, Florida, office.
He focuses his practice on workers' compensation, subrogation and lien litigation, and retaliatory discharge litigation under section 440 Florida Statutes.
Marchese has experience working with large self-insured and deductible employers.
He also has experience in the Professional Employer Organization and employee leasing market.
He works with clients on matters such as SIU and fraud litigation, as well as subrogation lien and equitable distribution litigation.

Antheil Maslow & MacMinn in Doylestown announced that partner Denise M. Bowman was elected as judge on the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas.
With more than 20 years' experience as a litigator in commercial and Orphans' Court matters, Bowman also represents nonprofit organizations and is a trained mediator.
Honored
Jack A. Rounick, attorney and founder of the Law Offices of Jack A. Rounick, was selected as Top Attorney of the Year for 2018-2019 by the International Association of Top Professionals for his leadership and commitment to the legal field.
Recognition of this award was displayed on the Times Square billboard in New York City in October, and Rounick will be honored at the IAOTP Awards Gala in Las Vegas in December.
