Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano associates Alexis Handrich, Ruxandra Osgood, Kathryn Luchansky and Jason Kaner joined the Philadelphia Bar Association's workers' compensation section in serving lunch at St. John's Hospice.

Pond Lehocky partnered with other workers' compensation firms to co-sponsor the lunch, which served a Thanksgiving spread to 245 homeless men with enough leftovers for to-go containers for men who were unable to attend the lunch. Run by Catholic Social Services, Saint

John's Hospice is a shelter for homeless men in Center City Philadelphia. It provides shelter to more than 25 homeless men per year. It also provides more than 325 meals each weekday, along with case management assistance, on-site medical aid, showers and mailroom facilities.

President Judge Emeritus Susan Peikes Gantman of the Pennsylvania Superior Court is set to be presented with the 2020 Pennsylvania Bar Association family law section Eric Turner Memorial Award on Jan. 18 during the section's Winter Meeting at The Hotel Hershey in Hershey.

The Eric Turner Memorial Award honors a lawyer who practices family law and who serves as a mentor and teacher to fellow lawyers.

As part of the award, a $1,000 donation will be made to an organization of Gantman's choosing.

She selected the Montgomery Child Advocacy Project, an organization that aims to end and prevent child abuse and neglect in Montgomery County through legal services, advocacy and education.

Gantman began serving on the Superior Court in 2004.

Gantman previously was co-chair of the family law section at Cozen O'Connor in West Conshohocken.

She formerly served as solicitor for the Montgomery County Office of Children and Youth and for Montgomery County Housing and Community Development.

She also was a Montgomery County assistant district attorney, working in the major crimes unit.

Gantman is a frequent lecturer on issues of appellate practice and procedure for the PBA, the Montgomery Bar Association and the Lawyers Club of Philadelphia.

Gantman is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, Allegheny County, Montgomery County and Philadelphia bar associations.

She is a fellow of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation and a master of the Villanova University School of Law Inns of Court.

Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott added member Debora Plehn-Dujowich to the firm's Philadelphia office and intellectual property group.

Plehn-Dujowich began her career as a molecular biologist and now focuses her patent law practice on the biomedical sciences.

She assists clients in identifying, protecting and enforcing their intellectual property in the life sciences space.

She conducts patent preparation and prosecution and due diligence and prepares patentability opinions, landscape opinions and freedom to operate opinions.

She also participates in reexamination and interference proceedings.

Plehn-Dujowich earned her Juris Doctor from the Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2008. She obtained her Ph.D. in biology from Yale University.

She was also a visiting professor at Lehigh University before attending law school.
