Capehart Scatchard announced that it assisted a Burlington County family with four young children during the holiday season.

Attorneys and staff donated money and brought in toys, shoes and clothing items from the children's wish lists as well as presents for the parents.

In addition, the family received food for a holiday dinner.

Among the people involved were Howard Vogel, chief financial officer and firm administrator; Mary Ellen Rose, managing shareholder; and John Geaney, executive committee member.

Elected and Appointed

Judge Daniel R. Sulman was appointed to the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas by Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf.

Sulman's career public service includes prior service as a judge of the Court of Common Pleas, a master in the domestic relations branch of Philadelphia Family Court and as a board member of the board of revision of taxes.

Sulman spent time clerking for Judge Edward R. Summers of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas in Domestic Violence Court.

Sulman earned his Juris Doctor from Temple University Beasley School of Law.

The Public Interest Law Center elected two new board members at its December meeting.

The new board members are Bret Flaherty, assistant general counsel of strategic global sourcing at AmerisourceBergen, and Scott Charles, trauma outreach coordinator at Temple University Hospital.

Flaherty previously worked at Berger Montague.

He has experience with matters related to employment litigation, civil litigation, commercial litigation, class actions and products liability.

He earned his Juris Doctor at Tulane University School of Law.

Charles is director of the Temple University Hospital's Cradle to Grave program, an initiative aimed at preventing gun violence.

He is also a member of St. Joseph's University's Institute for Violence Research and Prevention. Earlier in his career, he served as an at-risk youth specialist for the California State Department of Education.

The Public Interest Law Center uses high-impact legal strategies to advance the civil, social and economic rights of communities in the Philadelphia region facing discrimination, inequality and poverty.

It uses litigation, community education, advocacy and organizing to secure access to fundamental resources and services.

Announcements

The Delaware Business Court Insider is seeking contributors to provide analysis and insight into recent Delaware Court of Chancery decisions, as well as litigation and issues currently of interest to the business law community.

Potential topics that would be appropriate include, but are not limited to, arbitration, books-and-records requests, breach of contract lawsuits, controlling stockholder litigation, derivative claims, discovery disputes in commercial litigation, corporate dissolution, breach of fiduciary duty lawsuits, intellectual property litigation, jurisdictional battles in corporate litigation, merger and acquisition lawsuits, special committee decisions, corporate governance, limited liability company litigation and limited partnership agreement litigation.
