Pond Lehocky's chief human resources officer Jennifer Heinz appeared on the HR Leaders podcast, discussing how the firm built its culture by prioritizing employee experience.
Heinz talked about her journey to Pond Lehocky and how her experience helped shape the culture at the firm as she looked to create a more supportive work environment.
She also discussed how Pond Lehocky is working to invigorate its corporate culture by using the Predictive Index, which utilizes psychometric testing to understand what motivates employees and drives their performance.
It will address how the tool helps put people in positions that best align with their personalities and skill sets.
HR Leaders connects senior human resource professionals via a network providing access to insights about best practices and privately hosted workshops.
It also hosts podcasts featuring interviews with HR executives.
Heinz began her role of chief human resources officer at Pond Lehocky when the firm opened its doors in 2010.
In her role, she deals with different aspects of starting and running a law firm, including recruiting, training, marketing, accounting, information technology, operations and facilities.
Elected and Appointed
McNees Wallace & Nurick elected Nicole Stezar Kaylor, Steve Matzura, Matthew Pritchard, Andrew Rusniak and Brad Walker as new members of the firm, effective Jan. 1.
Kaylor practices in the McNees corporate and tax group, where she focuses on mergers and acquisitions.
Kaylor counsels businesses and nonprofits throughout the health care, transportation, manufacturing, service, financial services and other industries in structuring, negotiating and implementing a variety of merger and acquisition transactions and related regulatory and securities issues.
In addition, she represents clients in corporate governance issues, general contract matters and capital raising efforts.
Matzura practices in the McNees energy and environmental law group.
Matzura advises clients on a range of environmental, health and safety issues.
He assists clients with EHS compliance, permitting, auditing, self-disclosures and enforcement actions.
In addition, Matzura advises clients on the environmental implications of business and real estate transactions and litigates environmental matters before courts and administrative hearing boards, including the Pennsylvania Environmental Hearing Board.
Pritchard practices in the McNees energy and environmental law practice group, where he focuses on providing advice and representing his clients on energy and utility matters before the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, where he is a regular participant on behalf of his clients in rate cases, proceedings related to the implementation of Ohio energy efficiency and renewable requirements, rulemakings and many other regulatory matters.
Pritchard also serves as general counsel of the Industrial Energy Users-Ohio, advising and representing the organization on energy and utility matters affecting the price, availability and reliability of utility services.
Rusniak practices in the McNees estate planning and corporate and tax practice groups and represents individuals, families, business owners, executives and professionals in all aspects of tax and estate planning, business succession planning, asset protection planning, charitable planning, and estate and trust administration.
Rusniak primarily advises closely held business owners and high-net-worth families with regard to estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer taxes.
He also routinely counsels both individual and institutional fiduciaries in all aspects of trust and estate administration.
Walker practices in the McNees corporate ad tax group where he advises clients in connection with sophisticated acquisitions, joint ventures and other transactions, as well as their day-to-day business operations.
Walker works with a variety of business clients, including large, established publicly traded companies, international companies, banks and bank holding companies, closely held businesses, startups and private equity firms.

The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
