Capehart Scatchard announced that education law shareholder Joseph F. Betley was named to the firm's executive committee.
Betley concentrates his practice on labor and employment law, civil rights, school law, including special education, and construction law.
He is a member of the National School Boards Association, the New Jersey School Boards Association, and the New Jersey State Bar Association.
He is also an associate counsel for the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials.
Speakers
Dr. Adam Bernstein and Dr. Ryan Cassilly are set to present "Orthopaedic Causation Analysis in Workers' Compensation" from noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 12.
Bernstein will present a causality analysis of the rotator cuff, and Cassilly will discuss establishing causality for lumbar disk herniation in the workers' compensation setting.
The course is set to be held at Capehart Scatchard in Mount Laurel, New Jersey.
It is approved for 2.4 New Jersey credits and 2.0 Pennsylvana credits.

Charny, Karpousis, Altieri & Donoian partner Michelle Altieri was a featured speaker at the New Jersey State Bar Association 2020 Family Law Symposium, an annual continuing legal education program for attorneys, judges, paralegals and other family law professionals.
Presented in cooperation with the NJSBA family law section, this year's conference included panel discussions and presentations on current matrimonial law issues, including alimony, interstate and intrastate relocation, and the impact of technology on family law.
Altieri, who is a member of the NJSBA and its family law executive committee, joined a panel of her peers to examine equitable distribution of marital assets and specifically how equitable is not necessarily equal.
Altieri concentrates her practice in divorce and family law.
Her client representation involves issues including divorce, child custody, spousal and child support, property settlement agreements, prenuptial agreements, domestic violence and adoption.
She has experience with all phases of divorce litigation and settlement negotiations, mediations and arbitrations.
In addition to her work with the NJSBA and its family law section executive committee, she is a member of the Camden County Bar Association.
She currently serves on and was recently named to the CCBA board of trustees and its family law committee, a committee on which she serves as co-chair.
In addition, Altieri is a master in the Thomas S. Forkin Family Law Inns of Court and serves as the programming co-chair as well as a matrimonial early settlement panelist in Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties in New Jersey.

McNees Wallace & Nurick announced the addition of attorney Carol Verish Houck to the firm's real estate practice group.
Houck works on a variety of construction law and transactional matters, representing clients in the development, leasing, purchase and sale of real estate.
She has experience negotiating deals of all sizes from letter of intent through agreement of sale, due diligence and closing.
In addition, Houck assists clients in obtaining and negotiating favorable financing for projects and review of loan documents.
Houck's practice includes the development of residential and commercial condominiums and planned communities.
Houck received her law degree from Penn State Dickinson Law.

The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls. The court action, filed Nov. 25 in Michigan Eastern District Court by Hooper Hathaway PC on behalf of The Town Residences LLC, accuses Crown Castle of failing to transfer approximately $30,000 in utility payments from T-Mobile in breach of a roof-top lease and assignment agreement.
