- On Feb. 28, Philadelphia VIP will host an estate planning training session for pro bono attorneys, from 8:45–10 a.m., at Philadelphia VIP, 1500 Walnut St., Suite 400, Philadelphia. Clients living in poverty have straightforward but vital estate planning needs. Join VIP supervising attorney Lindsay Schoonmaker and Rothkoff Law Group's Roxane Crowley to learn how to plan estates through wills, powers of attorney and advance health care directives. - On Feb. 29, the ACLU of Pennsylvania will hold its "Centennial Celebration," from 6:30–11 p.m., at the National Constitution Center, 525 Arch St., Philadelphia. Join the ACLU of Pennsylvania for an inclusive evening of food, drinks, remembrances and performances as they celebrate 100 years of defending liberty where it began. Visit www.aclupa.org.
- On March 5, HIAS Pennsylvania will host an intake training, at 5:30 p.m. at HIAS Pennsylvania headquarters, 2100 Arch St., Philadelphia, for pro bono attorneys interested in supporting HIAS' intake services. - On March 11, Philadelphia VIP will hold a petition to vacate clinic and training, from 5–7:15 p.m., at Blank Rome, One Logan Square, 130 N. 18th St., Philadelphia. Learn how to draft and file a petition to vacate, then meet with clients to draft petitions on-site. After the clinic, participating attorneys will contact opposing counsel and e-file petitions and proposed orders when they are signed off. The training session will run from 5–6 p.m., followed by the clinic from 6–7:15 p.m. Register online at www.phillyvip.org.
- On March 12, the Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law will host the "Public Interest Experience (PIE) Auction," from 6–9 p.m., at the Thomas R. Kline Institute of Trial Advocacy, at 12th and Chestnut streets, Philadelphia. The event is held for students who take unpaid summer jobs in public interest organizations. This year will feature karaoke, PIE-ing a professor and change drive, March Madness bracket sales, a 50/50 raffle, and a live and silent auction. Tickets include admission, food and an open bar. - On March 19, Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts will hold a free landlord-tenant training workshop, from 6–7 p.m., at Parkway Central Library–Heim Center, 1901 Vine St., Philadelphia. - On March 21, SeniorLAW Center's 2020 annual gala, titled, "Roaring 20s: Celebrating 100 Years of Women's Voices and Leadership," will be held at The Hilton at Penn's Landing, 201 S. Christopher Columbus Blvd., Philadelphia, from 6-10 p.m. This event will celebrate the work of SeniorLAW Center and the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote and honor a group of remarkable women who continue the legacy of those 1920s suffragists as champions for justice. Michael G. Bongiorno, Andrew Scott Dulberg and Elizabeth E. Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

Amy O. Bruchs and Kurt F. Ellison of Michael Best & Friedrich have entered appearances for Epic Systems Corp. in a pending employment discrimination lawsuit. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.

The suit, filed Sept. 3 in Texas Eastern District Court by Rozier Hardt McDonough on behalf of Alto Dynamics, asserts five patents related to an online shopping platform. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Rodney Gilstrap, is 2:24-cv-00719, Alto Dynamics, LLC v. boohoo.com UK Limited.
