McNees Wallace & Nurick announced the addition of attorney Joseph Chapman to its personal injury and litigation practice groups.
Chapman counsels clients who were injured by tractor trailers, negligent drivers, dangerous dogs and defective property.
He negotiates settlements and leads his clients through the litigation process resolving claims through mediation, arbitration and trial.
Chapman tries vehicle accident cases and takes on complex trials.
Prior to practicing law, Chapman worked for an insurance agency, which he eventually came to own.
He earned his law degree from Widener University Commonwealth Law School.
Elected and Appointed
Galfand Berger announced that Arthur L. Bugay and Gabriela G. Raful became senior partners at the firm and attorney Bradley R. Smith has become a junior partner.
Bugay's practice areas include products liability, construction accident litigation, personal injury litigation, negligent security and employment law.
He is also an advocate for disabled and injured children and for the elderly, his work for the latter focusing upon nursing home negligence.
Rufal represents injured clients in the areas of workers' compensation, personal injury, products liability and social security disability.
She is fluent in Spanish and often works with the firm's Hispanic clients.
Smith advocates on behalf of injured workers, consumers and victims of negligence.
He has experience handling products liability and other personal injury cases.
Events
The Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel is set to offer a program titled "A Young Lawyer's Guide to Litigating in Today's World" at 1:30 p.m. April 30 at the Arts Ballroom in Philadelphia.
Two substantive and one ethics CLE credit are offered.

Barley Snyder partner Donald R. Geiter received the certified information privacy professional designation, a national accreditation in the privacy and cybersecurity field.
The International Association of Privacy Professionals bestows the CIPP/U.S. approval to its members that can pass the qualifications for knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations and how to apply them locally, nationally and internationally.
Geiter is the chair of the Barley Snyder cybersecurity service team, which helps the firm's clients navigate the complex laws, regulations and standards that relate to cybersecurity.
He began working with cybersecurity issues more than 20 years ago, with his first experience at the U.S. Navy's Office of Naval Research.
Geiter earned a Master's Degree in cybersecurity law and policy at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2019.
He is a frequent speaker on cybersecurity topics at events for organizations such as the National Association of Corporate Directors, the Pennsylvania Bankers Association, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Corporate Counsel, the Pennsylvania Manufacturers' Association and the World Trade Center Harrisburg.

The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls. The court action, filed Nov. 25 in Michigan Eastern District Court by Hooper Hathaway PC on behalf of The Town Residences LLC, accuses Crown Castle of failing to transfer approximately $30,000 in utility payments from T-Mobile in breach of a roof-top lease and assignment agreement.
