Jeffrey M. Williams, founder and managing partner of Williams Family Law, spoke at the Pennsylvania Bar Association family law section winter meeting.
The meeting commemorated the 40th anniversary of the adoption of the Pennsylvania Divorce Code and the future of the practice of family law in Pennsylvania.
Williams served on a panel of several judges and legal figures in family law in Pennsylvania. "Major Milestones in Pennsylvania Family Law" reviewed significant cases that were decided since the enactment of the code in 1980, as well as subsequent changes since its inception.
Williams litigated one of the first significant same-sex child custody cases in the commonwealth.
He is a past president of the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and is a diplomate of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers.
Elected and Appointed
Lamb McErlane attorney Stephanie P. Kalogredis was elected to the board of directors of the Chester County Community Foundation.
The CCCF is entrusted with over 400 family, individual, community group and nonprofit legacy funds.
Kalogredis focuses her practice in estate planning and estate administration.
She assists clients with estate planning and philanthropic goals through the use of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, gifting, pre- and post-nuptial agreements and other legal documents and planning mechanisms.
Kalogredis also counsels and assists trustees and executors to help them carry out their fiduciary duties and represents beneficiaries to ensure their rights to inheritance.
Events
McNees Wallace & Nurick, in partnership with the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, is set to host a Business Breakfast Briefing at the on Friday, where McNees attorney Joe Sileo will present "Keeping an Eye on Pennsylvania Employment Laws-Part 2."
The presentation is slated to run from 8 to 9:30 a.m., with complimentary breakfast and registration beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Sileo, a labor and employment attorney, will offer guidance and recommendations to human resource teams regarding select state-specific Pennsylvania employment laws, including the
Wage Payment and Collection Law, the Inspection of Employment Records Law and the Criminal Records History Information Act. He will also discuss new and pending state employment-related legislation.
Sileo advises clients in employment-related issues, including wage and hour compliance, work performance management, discipline, equal opportunity and fair employment practices, hiring practices and termination decisions, litigation avoidance, employee leave issues, retaliation, noncompete and separation agreements, unemployment compensation, and also in connection with collective bargaining administration and arbitration matters.
He also represents employers in connection with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and wage and hour matters. In addition, he defends employers in discrimination cases and other employment-related litigation.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.

Yalowitz of Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer have entered their appearances for Hanaco Venture Capital and its executives, Lior Prosor and David Frankel, in a pending securities lawsuit. The action, filed on Dec. 24 in New York Southern District Court by Zell, Aron & Co. on behalf of Goldeneye Advisors, accuses the defendants of negligently and fraudulently managing the plaintiff's $1 million investment. Attorneys from A&O Shearman has stepped in as defense counsel for Toronto-Dominion Bank and other defendants in a pending securities class action. The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls. The court action, filed Nov. 25 in Michigan Eastern District Court by Hooper Hathaway PC on behalf of The Town Residences LLC, accuses Crown Castle of failing to transfer approximately $30,000 in utility payments from T-Mobile in breach of a roof-top lease and assignment agreement.
