The Washington County, Pennsylvania, Court of Common Pleas is reducing its functioning to essential services only for the next two weeks, which means the court is expected to handle many hearings and arguments digitally, or over the phone.

According to a memo released March 14, the court plans to use video conferencing for status conferences in criminal cases, as well as hearings concerning guilty pleas, bench warrants and all other procedures where possible. Contested motions will also be handled over the phone, according to the court’s memo.
