Holland & Knight partner Andrew Soven was appointed to the board of directors of Clarifi, a nonprofit credit counseling and housing organization based in Philadelphia and serving the greater metropolitan area with 12 locations in northeast Pennsylvania, South Jersey and Delaware.
Clarifi began operation in 1966 and provides people with affordable access to the resources required to improve their financial futures.
Soven is a commercial litigator with experience in the financial services industry and is an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.
Events
The Philadelphia Bar Foundation hosted an event for the Equal Justice Center, a nonprofit center created to collocate many of Philadelphia's civil legal aid entities in a single location to lower costs, streamline service delivery and foster greater collaboration.
Set to open in 2022 at 800-30 Vine St, the facility will be home to 13 legal aid agencies and social services organizations.
Speakers included David L. Cohen, senior executive vice president and chief diversity officer at Comcast Corp.; Attorney General Josh Shapiro; Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon; Jennifer Clarke, executive director at The Public Interest Law Center; and Robert Heim, partner at Dechert.

Saxton & Stump announced that attorney Kiandra D. Steffy joined the firm as an associate to focus her practice in labor and employment, Title IX and commercial litigation.
She has experience with state and federal employment law and provides representation in employment litigation matters.
Steffy assists employers in the internal investigation of allegations of workplace misconduct and will represent higher education entities with regard to Title IX matters.
Prior to joining Saxton & Stump, Steffy served as an associate in the litigation group of a Harrisburg-based law firm for five years, where she focused her practice in fiduciary litigation, employment litigation and education law.
As a participant of the Clemency Project 2014, which allows nonviolent, low-level offenders to receive pro bono representation, Steffy successfully petitioned for an incarcerated individual to receive a commuted sentence after being granted clemency by former President Barack Obama.
She is the first member of the National Bar Association to file a successful petition for clemency.
Last year, she was honored by the McCaskey High School Alumni Association with their Distinguished Alumni award for her achievements as an attorney and in the community.
She is currently chair of the junior board of directors for Girls on the Run of Lancaster and is on the board of trustees for the New School of Lancaster.
Steffy also volunteers with the Children Deserve a Chance Foundation (Attollo), a Lancaster-based organization founded by her husband, Jordan Steffy, that supports the financial, emotional and spiritual development of underprivileged and disabled youth.
Steffy received her Juris Doctor from the Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law.
She previously served as an assistant city solicitor in the City of Philadelphia Law Department as well as an arbitrator for the Office of District Court Administration in Lancaster.
Steffy also served as judicial law clerk for Judge Dennis E. Reinaker of the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.
