Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin announced that Colleen M. Bannon, former director of human resources,was promoted to chief operating officer of the firm, succeeding Liz Brown, who is now senior adviser of operations management until her retirement at the end of the year.
Additionally, former director of finance Frank S. Stransky was named the law firm's first-ever chief financial officer.
The firm also welcomes Karen Williams as its new director of human resources.
As COO, Bannon oversees all of the firm's nonfinancial administrative departments, including two that she previously led as director of litigation support services and, most recently, director of HR.
She joined the firm in 1980 as a secretary and also worked in the firm's information technology department while attending college, and then law school, at night.
She was a practicing attorney of the firm, focusing on privacy and data security and employment law matters.
She also led the firm's first e-discovery program.
Bannon is a graduate of Temple University Beasley School of Law.
Stransky joined Marshall Dennehey in 2015.
A certified public accountant, he has experience in financial and operational management and tax planning, with technical knowledge specific to financial systems, data metrics and computer systems technology.
He is an active member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs.
Stransky is a graduate of the University of Lynchburg.
Williams is a human resources professional with cross-industry background supporting large, diverse workforces of employees in multiple locations and states.
Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, she was director of HR at McBee Associates in Wayne, a health care management consulting company.
She holds a Master of Business Administration in HR from Walden University.
Williams is certified as a professional in human resources by the HR Certification Institute and the Society of Human Resources Management.

Diversity in Blockchain announced the launch of its Philadelphia chapter as it continues to launch individual chapters around the country.
Jennifer Zegel, a partner in the Philadelphia law firm of Kleinbard, was appointed to serve as director of the Philadelphia chapter.
The Philadelphia chapter's board is comprised of members of the Philadelphia business community, including: Diego Matamoros as chapter assistant director, Tatiana Irani as chapter secretary, Ashley Freeby as chapter assistant secretary, Rhonda Okamoto and Elizabeth Roggio as chapter membership directors, Benjamin DiFrancesco as chapter meetings director, Ross Bruch and Mike Heim as chapter assistant meetings directors, Steven McKeon and PJ DiMuzio as chapter media directors, Alex Favin as chapter assistant media director, Stefanie Robinson as chapter community service director, Bill Evans as chapter assistant community service director, and Colleen Connors and Sean Keefe as advisers to the board.
The Philadelphia chapter hosted a kickoff event with an inaugural meeting at Kleinbard.
Zegel moderated a discussion with Patrick Hromisin of Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr and Joe Guagliardo of Pepper Hamilton centering on the California Consumer Privacy Act and the impact it will have on companies using blockchain technology.
