Cordell & Cordell lead litigator William J. Phelan IV was named board of directors president for the Catholic Charities Appeal, a nonprofit institution that acts as a fundraiser for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and benefits hundreds of thousands of people through various organizations and ministries in the archdiocese.

Phelan, 37, who has been a board member of CCA since 2016, is the youngest person to be elected as president of the CCA board.

Phelan received his Juris Doctor, with a certificate in law and public policy, from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.

Phelan is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association, the Brehon Law Society, and is executive board member of the Doris Jonas Freed Matrimonial Inn of Court.

First Law Strategy Group co-founder and managing member David S. Senoff, was appointed by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to the disciplinary board of Pennsylvania.

Senoff served as a hearing committee member of the disciplinary board for 12 of the last 16 years.

In addition, Senoff served a three-year term as a member of the Supreme Court's civil procedural rules committee.

The disciplinary board was created by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to review conduct and assure compliance by all attorneys to the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct.

The board assists the Supreme Court in the licensing and discipline of attorneys in Pennsylvania.

Its mission is to protect the general public, maintain a standard of integrity in the legal profession, and safeguard the reputation of the courts of Pennsylvania.

Senoff focuses his practice on class action lawsuits in public policy fights.

He was one of the lead attorneys involved in seeking justice for the victims of the "Kids-for-Cash" cases, and was involved in the creation of the Pennsylvania law regarding the state's Wage Law.

Senoff also represents public officials, candidates and political action committees in election law and regulatory matters.

With businesses facing the disruption caused by the global coronavirus pandemic, Barley Snyder established a COVID-19 response service team to help businesses with their legal questions during this time.

The team is comprised of nearly 20 attorneys and is led by attorney Martin R. Siegel, a former attorney for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The group's attorneys represent sectors from throughout the business community, including human resources, education, litigation, hospitality, health care, senior living facilities, general business and other affected areas.

Siegel is a member of the firm's real estate and environment and energy practice groups.

He handles cases involving litigation of solid waste, clean water, environmental remediation and sewage planning.

In addition to working for the CDC, Siegel held positions at the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry in Atlanta and with the Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest Laboratory in Washington state.
