Furia Rubel Communications Inc., an integrated marketing and public relations agency, announced that Jennifer Simpson Carr joined the agency as director of business development.
In her new role, Carr leads relationship management with prospective, new and existing clients.
She tracks market trends and emerging issues, supports the agency's client value proposition, and helps the agency and clients establish competitive advantages, win new business and implement strategies that impact long-term business objectives.
Prior to joining Furia Rubel, Carr spent more than 10 years leading business development and marketing communications strategies in-house at AmLaw 200 law firms in New York and at mid-market law firms throughout the United States.
Carr frequently speaks at national events and regularly contributes to legal publications.
An active member of the Legal Marketing Association, Carr held several leadership positions and now serves as a director-at-large on the Northeast regional LMA board.
She received a bachelor's degree in communication studies from East Stroudsburg University, a graduate certificate of marketing from the University of Texas at Dallas and earned a mini-MBA in digital marketing from Rutgers Business School.
Speakers
Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg announced that Raymond Lemisch, a partner with the firm, will be panelist at a webinar titled "Navigating Uncertain Finances: Non-Bankruptcy and Pre-Bankruptcy Planning Alternatives for Small Businesses."
The program is slated to be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday via Zoom.
The panelists will identify existing systems and tested strategies to navigate uncertain financial conditions.
They will discuss bankruptcy, insolvency and debt compromises.
The free webinar brings together legal practitioners from a variety of law firms with experience relevant to challenges presented by the coronavirus pandemic, from loan forbearances to the new Subchapter V Small Business Bankruptcy provisions.
The panel is set to be moderated by Gibbel Kraybill & Hess attorney Peter J. Kraybill.
The participating panelists are: Polly Gibble, a bankruptcy and debtor/creditor attorney at Saxton & Stump and former bankruptcy judicial law clerk; Donald H. Hess, a debtor/creditor attorney with Gibble Kraybill; Lemisch, a bankruptcy and debtor/creditor attorney; Robert W. Pontz, a bankruptcy and debtor/creditor attorney with Brubaker Connaughton Goss & Lucarelli; and Barry A. Solodky, a bankruptcy and debtor/creditor attorney with Saxton & Stump and former Chapter 7 trustee.
Elected and Appointed
DLA Piper announced that 67 lawyers were promoted to its partnership.
The promotions were effective as of April 1 in the United States.
The promotions were made across many of the firm's practice areas in 35 different offices throughout 13 countries.
Across the firm's practices globally, corporate saw the largest intake of new partners with 19 promotions, followed by litigation and regulatory with 15.
Intellectual property and technology and finance and projects had 10 and eight promotions, respectively, while there were six in real estate.
Tax and employment both had four, and there was one in restructuring.
In total, there were 33 promotions in the United States, including Brad Phipps in Philadelphia.
In the firm's corporate practice, Phipps focuses on the establishment and operation of domestic and international private investment funds, co-investment and other related investment vehicles and separate account arrangements.
This practice covers assets classes such as real estate, venture capital and private equity, private credit, hedge and commodities. He advises clients on fund structure, drafting disclosure and fund documents and negotiations with investors, placement agents and other service providers.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.

The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls. The court action, filed Nov. 25 in Michigan Eastern District Court by Hooper Hathaway PC on behalf of The Town Residences LLC, accuses Crown Castle of failing to transfer approximately $30,000 in utility payments from T-Mobile in breach of a roof-top lease and assignment agreement.
