Steven B. Barrett, co-chair of the litigation practice at Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin, was interviewed on MLTV-Main Line Network's show "Legal Talk with Stacy Clark."
Barrett was interviewed on possible claims men and women who have suffered from cancer and took Zantac may have against the drugmaker.
The Food and Drug Administration recalled the over-the- counter medicine because it contains a carcinogen.
Barrett explained the possible implications of this for Zantac users.
Barrett was also interviewed on the possible claims families may have if their loved ones got the coronavirus while in a nursing home in Pennsylvania.
Barrett serves as chair of Hamburg Rubin's personal injury practice group in addition to co-chairing the litigation department.
Barrett represents individuals suffering catastrophic losses and death due to negligence, concentrating on medical malpractice and personal injury matters, including victims of sexual assault and abuse, constitutional claims (police misconduct and abuse), and asbestos litigation.
Barrett tries complex cases in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks, Lehigh, Northampton, Berks and Delaware counties.
Barrett also has commercial and real estate litigation experience, which includes the representation of corporate clients involving corporate trade secrets, unfair business practices, commercial financing, noncompete clauses and business divorces.
Through the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Barrett served by appointment as a disciplinary hearing committee member considering issues of misconduct within the legal profession.
Barrett formerly served on the board of directors of the Montgomery Bar Association and is a past president of its young lawyers division.
He currently serves as chair of the firm's marketing committee and mentors associates in the practice of law and business development.
Barrett received his law degree from the Temple University Beasley School of Law.
Elected and Appointed
Jennifer S. Coatsworth, a partner at Margolis Edelstein in Philadelphia, is set to begin a three-year term as a zone governor on the Pennsylvania Bar Association board of governors.
One of 12 zone governors, Coatsworth will represent Philadelphia lawyers.
Coatsworth is the chair of the PBA civil litigation section and co-vice chair of the PBA commission on women in the profession executive council.
She previously served as the WIP's treasurer.
Coatsworth is a member of the PBA civil and equal rights committee, judicial evaluation commission, member events and engagement task force, minority bar committee, planning committee and quality of life/balance committee.
She began serving as a voting member of the PBA House of Delegates in 2013.
She also is active in the Philadelphia Bar Association, where she currently serves as secretary on its board of governors.
She previously served as assistant secretary and parliamentarian for the board of governors, and she was the secretary and vice chair of the association's young lawyers division.
Additionally, Coatsworth served as the chancellor of the Louis D. Brandeis Law Society.
She is a member of the executive council of the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel and chairs the judicial relations subcommittee.
Coatsworth began practicing in the Philadelphia office of Margolis Edelstein 15 years ago.
She focuses on motor vehicle, dealer fraud and lemon law cases from both the plaintiff and defense perspectives, and on the defense of professionals, including real estate agents, home inspectors, accountants and physicians.
She also defends fraternal organizations against various claims for liability.
Coatsworth earned her Juris Doctor from the Temple University Beasley School of Law.
She is the president of the Philadelphia chapter of the University of Maryland Alumni Association and Athletic Scholarship Fund.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.
