Lamb McErlane partner Vasilios J. Kalogredis was a speaker at the National Society of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants virtual annual meeting/webinar.
He discussed "The Art of the Private Equity Deal—Understanding Medical and Dental Practice Private Equity Deals."
NSCHBC was founded when members of the Institute of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants, the National Association of Healthcare Consultants and the Society of Medical Dental Management Consultants came together to form one society to best serve practices across all fields.
At Lamb McErlane Kalogredis serves as chairman of the health law department.
He began exclusively practicing health law and consulting over 40 years ago, representing physicians, dentists, group practices, other health care professionals and health care-related entities.
He was recently appointed to serve as a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's health care law committee.
Kalogredis frequently lectures both locally and nationally on health law topics and has published numerous articles on current issues in health law.

McNees Wallace & Nurick attorney Devin Chwastyk is slated to serve as a panelist for intermixIT and the Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce's webinar "Understanding the Cybersecurity Impacts and Risks of COVID-19 on Your Business and Remote Workers" on Wednesday.
Chwastyk, along with Andy Strouse of intermixIT and Michael DePalma of Datto, will cover the legal and technical challenges small and medium-size businesses now face as the result of COVID-19.
Chwastyk is chair of the McNees privacy and data security practice group, where he advises clients on how to get ahead of data exposure by developing data security policies, privacy disclosures, breach response plans and associated training programs.
Chwastyk helps clients remedy and report security breach events.
He holds the certified information privacy professional (United States) designation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
When he is not working on data security matters, Chwastyk's practice otherwise is focused on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on defending class action lawsuits.
He defends clients from class action claims in areas including civil rights, consumer protection law and employment practices.
He also litigates other commercial cases on behalf of organizations and individuals.
Events
Ballard Spahr's emerging growth and venture capital group will host WhatsNext, a content-based virtual business conference curated for startup and emerging growth companies, as well as angel, venture capital and private equity investors.
The conference—which will also offer sports, music and food-related entertainment—is set to take place June 24.
WhatsNext will include panelists and performers from Philadelphia, Silicon Valley and New York.
Both large companies—such as QVC, Comcast, Ancestry.com, NewSpring and Bloomberg—and startup companies—such as Guru Technologies, Crossbeam, Federal Donuts and Neuroflow—are set to participate.
Entertainment breaks, including a motivational speech from Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, a beer tasting with Victory Brewing, and messages from former Philadelphia Eagle Connor Barwin, WXPN's Bruce Warren and Philadelphia rock band Low Cut Connie, will be woven into the virtual sessions.
The conference will take place via Hopin, a software application designed for the production of multisession conferences.
Hopin offers a digital networking room, where participants join and are automatically connected to another person in the networking room for a short talk and then automatically connect to another person in the networking room for another short conversation.
There will also be an "expo" where companies can promote their products, services and brands.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.

The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls. The court action, filed Nov. 25 in Michigan Eastern District Court by Hooper Hathaway PC on behalf of The Town Residences LLC, accuses Crown Castle of failing to transfer approximately $30,000 in utility payments from T-Mobile in breach of a roof-top lease and assignment agreement.
