McAndrews, Mehalick, Connolly, Hulse and Ryan is slated to host a free live webinar titled "Reflecting on Remote Learning and Preparing for Future Schooling" at noon Friday via Zoom.
Jennifer P. Grobe and Caitlin E. McAndrews from McAndrews Law Offices will discuss lessons learned from remote instruction and how to better advocate for children in the coming school year, whether it occurs in person, remote or through a combination of the two.
Space is limited and advanced registration is advised.
McAndrews is a partner with McAndrews Law Offices, where she concentrates her practice on special education matters and estate planning.
McAndrews works in the firm's Southern Delaware and Washington, D.C., area offices.
Grobe is an associate attorney at the firm, where she concentrates her practice on special education and civil rights.
She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Honored
The Justinian Foundation announced that it awarded its annual scholarship to Mary Lawrence from Drexel University Kline School of Law.
Her anticipated graduation is 2021.
At the Kline School of Law, Lawrence is a current member of the Justinian Society chapter.
She is a full-time student self-funding her education and is involved in the community.
Lawrence works part time during the school year at Dranoff and Patrizio.
She is a competitor on Drexel's trial team and co-director of Student Disciplinary Advocacy Service, a pro bono service that provides law students with the opportunity to volunteer as advocates for K-12 students in the School District of Philadelphia who are facing disciplinary transfers and expulsions.
The Justinian Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1996.
The charitable arm of the Justinian Society, the foundation's sole purpose is to provide financial assistance to law students currently enrolled in an accredited law school in a program of study leading to a Juris Doctor degree.
Scholarship candidates must be admitted to an accredited law school within a 100-mile radius of the city of Philadelphia and must be entering, at a minimum, their second year, or must meet the requirements for specific scholarships.
In addition to general scholarships, two named scholarships include the Jules Fiorvanti Scholarship, which is granted to a student at LaSalle University interested in the study of law.
The Richard F. Furia, Esquire Scholarship is granted to the winner of an essay contest with a focus on advocating against stereotyping and defamation.
Elected and Appointed
Barley Snyder announce that attorney Brian Korman was named the chairman of the board of directors of Bench Mark Program in Lancaster.
The organization allows mentors to use exercise, academic support and career counseling to reach at-risk youth in the Lancaster area and help them succeed.
Korman has been a member of the board since 2018.
Korman joined Barley Snyder full time in 2016 and is a member of the firm's business and real estate practice groups.
His practice is concentrated in general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, business startups and formations, contract negotiation and counseling on family-owned business issues such as succession planning and buy-sell agreements.
Korman also regularly handles real estate and financing matters such as commercial lease negotiation and loan documentation.
He is a former summer associate at Barley Snyder.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.
