Additions
Intellectual property litigator Darius Gambino joined Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr's IP litigation team.
In joining Saul Ewing's Philadelphia office, Gambino brings to the firm more than 20 years of experience helping clients protect their intellectual property under the patent, trademark and copyright laws in the United States and abroad.
He joins the firm as a partner in the litigation practice in addition to the IP litigation team.
Products and processes involving electrical and mechanical engineering are a focus of
Gambino's patent practice, including work for clients in industries ranging from consumer goods and medical devices to video games and computer software.
Gambino also assists clients with managing global patent and trademark portfolios and counsels them on enforcement strategies.
Gambino also represents clients in connection with intellectual property licensing, trade secret and copyright disputes, and corporate diligence investigations.
Before earning his law degree, Gambino was a patent examiner for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Mr. Gambino earned his Juris Doctor from the Catholic University of America's Columbus School of Law.
|Elected and Appointed
Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg partner Mark Sheppard was appointed to the Pennsylvania Bar Association Joint Task Force on Continuity of Delivery of Legal Services, representing the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
The working group brings together representatives of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association, the Public Defender Association of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers to develop recommendations to update processes and technology to enable the legal system to continue to operate under any similar emergency circumstances.
Sheppard is the chair of the white-collar defense and government investigations practice group.
He has over 30 years of experience in representing clients in federal criminal trials, grand jury investigations, SEC/FINRA enforcement actions and parallel civil investigations.
He also regularly conducts internal investigations, counsels clients on the implementation of corporate compliance policies, and represents clients in complex civil litigation matters including representing directors and officers and defending False Claims Act matters.
Sheppard earned his Juris Doctor, from Penn State Dickinson Law.

Fineman Krekstein & Harris partner Lee Applebaum is a co-author and editor of the Business Courts chapter in the recently published Recent Developments in Business and Corporate Litigation.
The book is published by the American Bar Association section of business law's business and corporate litigation committee.
Applebaum serves regional and national clients on a spectrum of business and litigation matters.
He focuses works in Fineman Krekstein's alternative dispute resolution, appellate litigation, commercial litigation/business disputes, consumer litigation, insurance, insurance coverage and bad faith, real estate and trucking practice groups.
He clerked in Pennsylvania's Superior Court for Judge Phyllis W. Beck, and argues appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, in the Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, in Pennsylvania's Superior and Commonwealth Courts, and in New Jersey's Appellate Division.
Applebaum began serving as judge pro tempore with Philadelphia's Commerce Court in 2006 and serves as a mediator and arbitrator.
He also writes on the subjects of mediation and arbitration.
He is published on a number of legal topics, including the relationship between lawyers and their clients.
He promotes the development of specialized business courts in the United States and is a charter member of the American College of Business Court Judges.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
