Elected and Appointed
McNees Wallace & Nurick announced attorney Denise Elliott was elected to the executive committee for the board of directors of Girls on the Run Lancaster/Lebanon.
Elliott is set to serve as vice chair of the organization's board for two years beginning Wednesday.
Elliott began serving on the board of Girls on the Run four years ago and chairs the governance committee.
Girls on the Run, which was established internationally in 1996, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring girls to activate their potential and pursue their goals.
Over the course of a 10-week program, trained coaches lead small teams of 3rd- through 8th-grade girls through a research-based curriculum, which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games.
The program wraps up with a celebratory 5K event.
The Lancaster/Lebanon council was founded in 2019 and serves girls in every school district in Lancaster County.
In addition to her involvement with Girls on the Run, Elliott serves as a classroom volunteer for Junior Achievement of Central Pennsylvania, is on the board of directors and personnel committee for Lancaster Health Center and is a member of the parent school board at St. Anne School.
She served on the board of directors of the Hands-on House Children's Museum for six years and is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Lancaster.
Elliott practices in the McNees labor and employment practice group, where she focuses on defending self-insured employers in workers compensation matters and providing representation and counsel to clients in employment discrimination litigation, ADA/FMLA compliance, drug and alcohol issues in the workplace, and health and safety.
She is certified as a specialist in the practice of workers' compensation law by the Pennsylvania Bar Association workers' compensation law section.
