The Philadelphia Zoning Board of Adjustment is set to begin the process of conducting virtual ZBA hearings July 14.
The ZBA is set to hold a webinar titled "Philadelphia ZBA Goes Virtual: A Practitioner's Guide" on July 13.
The program will involve a panel of city zoning officials who will provide insight on the process and answer questions regarding navigating the new virtual situation.
Panelists for this program include Tanya Sunkett, zoning board administrator; Sharon Suleta, counsel for the Philadelphia ZBA; and Martha Cross, deputy director of the Philadelphia Division of Planning and Zoning.
Hercules Grigos, a partner at Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg, is slated to serve as moderator of the panel.
He focuses his practice on real estate and finance and zoning and land use.
Speakers
Martin Law partner Matthew Wilson is an author of The Workers' Compensation Practice and Procedure Manual and a faculty member for the programs' CLE, to be held Thursday.
The half-day program will take place via broadcast.
Wilson is set to present on multiple subjects, including subrogation, litigation strategy for medical-only claims, reimbursement of medical expenses and ethics.
Wilson began practicing exclusively in the area of workers' compensation law over 25 years ago.
For the last 16 years, he co-authored the Pennsylvania Bar Institute's Workers' Compensation Practice and Procedure Manual.
Wilson began regularly appearing as a featured speaker at the biennial "Tough Problems in Workers' Compensation" seminar in 1997.
He also presented multiple lectures at the fall meetings of the Pennsylvania workers' compensation section as well as the statewide biannual practice and procedure program.
Wilson began serving on the workers' compensation law section council of the Pennsylvania Bar Association in 2007 and is a past chair of the organization.
In 2018, he received the Irv Stander award for his contributions to the practice of workers compensation in Pennsylvania.
He is a member of the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia trial lawyers associations as well as the workplace injury litigation group.
Elected and Appointed
Barley Snyder announced that attorney David Walker was appointed to the labor and employment committee of the National School Boards Association, Council of School Attorneys.
The Council of School Attorneys supports school attorneys in their representation of public school boards by providing leadership in legal advocacy for public schools.
On the labor and employment committee, Walker will help advise the council on these issues pertinent to school boards across the country.
Walker is a member of Barley Snyder's education and employment practice groups, and his work includes assisting school boards with labor negotiations.
His experience includes ensuring employer compliance with all applicable federal and state laws.
Walker also assists in collective bargaining with labor unions and regularly guides school boards through the grievance/arbitration process.
Walker's practice includes providing support for the business needs of educational agencies, including drafting, revising and negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with public-bidding requirements and responding to bid disputes.
Further, he provides business services for joint purchasing boards and health care cooperatives and routinely counsels school business managers on issues related to employee benefits.
He is also a member of the board of directors at the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra and a 2014 graduate of the Leadership Lancaster program.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.

Yalowitz of Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer have entered their appearances for Hanaco Venture Capital and its executives, Lior Prosor and David Frankel, in a pending securities lawsuit.
