Tom Wyatt, chair of Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel's municipal infrastructure and services practice group, co-presented at a PSATS webinar titled "The Pros and Cons of Selling Municipal Water/Sewer Assets."
The panel covered the current market for selling and acquiring municipal water/sewer assets, including a summary of recent public and private transactions, updates on the environmental and Pennsylvania Utility Commission developments related to sales/acquisitions, and the potential benefits and challenges associated with sales and acquisitions.
Wyatt represents local governments and municipal authorities with infrastructure-related matters, such as regulatory compliance, bulk sale and services contract negotiations and water and wastewater system purchases and sales.
Wyatt collaborates with municipal solicitors and has experience as counsel to municipalities relating to a PUC application under Act 12 and relating to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
He works as an adviser in preparing witness testimonies and drafting water and wastewater planning documents.
Beyond his municipal infrastructure and services practice, Wyatt represents individuals and corporations in business and finance and corporate governance matters.
Wyatt graduated from University of California at Berkeley School of Law and is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.

DLA Piper announced that Ronald Plesco joined the firm's intellectual property and technology practice as a partner in Philadelphia.
Plesco, a former prosecutor, is an information security and privacy attorney with more than 20 years of experience in cyber investigations, privacy, threat intelligence, information assurance, identity management, cyber threats and cyber-enabled frauds, data analytics and artificial intelligence.
Plesco joins DLA Piper from KPMG LLP, where he was a partner and national leader in the cybersecurity services practice.
His clients there represent global retail, financial, manufacturing, automotive, technology, communications, defense, life sciences and private equity corporations.
He previously served as CEO of the National Cyber Forensics and Training Alliance, where he managed the development of intelligence that led to more than 400 worldwide cybercrime arrests in four years and prevented over $2 billion in fraud.
Plesco is the latest addition to bolster the firm's growing privacy and cybersecurity capabilities.
Plesco previously served under Gov. Tom Ridge as the director of public safety policy for Pennsylvania.
Immediately after 9/11, he was also selected to serve as chair of the cyberattacks committee for the Pennsylvania Homeland Security Council.
Plesco also supported Secretary Tom Ridge at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in the development and deployment of the national cybersecurity division, US-CERT, TSA Secure Flight and US-VISIT programs.
He received his Juris Doctor from the Oklahoma City University School of Law.
He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.
