An award said to be the largest personal injury verdict from Delaware County has been vacated by a Pennsylvania appeals court.

The state Superior Court last week ordered a new trial in the case, captioned Charlton v. Troy, which resulted in a more than $40 million verdict in 2018. The award had been handed up to compensate the family of an infant who suffered a severe spinal injury during birth that caused paralysis from the mid-chest down.
